There's a reason Aaron Donald has been so dominant. Not only does he have immense talent, but look at him.

99% of DTs don't get their body like that. They look flabby. Doesn't mean they can't be effective with that kinda body, but Donald keeps his body in tip top shape along with his talent.

Send Jalen Carter to go train with this dude every offseason. Learn from the best, develop good training habits.

I was pretty much in agreement until your last sentence. Gainwell is a much better receiver than Scott. That said, I expect Swift to be the leading receiver out of the backfield.

Maybe I am unduly biased by this play:

YIKES.  Just a matter of time until WAWA is on the Phils sleeve.

I mean the bird would be fine.  Also they could do sunset styled jerseys.

Don't do it, Howie.  He'll find a way to get injured during the one-day contract and look for an injury settlement

@FranklinFldEBUpper

My point in starting this discussion really wasn’t whether Covey was a good PR, but rather the impact of carrying a PR only and a fourth RB/KOR on the active list.

Speaking of Sisposs, I would be curious if you have the hang times on his 9 worse punts (the tenth being that one in the Super Bowl where he may not yet have been fully healthy),if you have that data.  How does that compare to the longest returns against the Eagles last year or shanks out of bounds.

The thing that concerns me about Zentner (well, besides inconsistency and lack of directional kicking) is whether he gets sufficient hang time (consistently again) for the distance he kicks.  Those highlights were kicks where the receiver was poorly placed.  Think of it this way on punts, most every defender is blocked.  The average speed for those likely to get downfield is probably around a 4.5 forty.  A 60+ yard line drive is over kicking the coverage if the PR plays the ball right.

Yea, I was indicating that in Carter's case, blocking would be  best.

The Eagles have something like 6 great DTs for 2 spots.  Looked at the Super Bowl snap counts.   Fletcher Cox and Hargrave had over 75% of the snaps in the Super Bowl,  and a whole lot of DT/DEs had 33% of the snaps or fewer.

It's important to have a great rotation with rested, great DTs and DEs.   It's not really all that clear though that it's a rotation.   It's just the world best 3rd string.

I like Ben VanS as versatile back / ex Wolverines FB / maybe returner - because he is unlikely to have work on defense.

I like Nolan Smith as the same versatile back - because he is unlikely to have much work on defense.   Some people just want him on the edge rushing, and in the Super Bowl, Reddick had 85% of the snaps.  Not many snaps for Nolan Smith in 2023.  There will be some but I think there are snaps for versatile freakbeast Nolan Smith if they give them to him.

Yea, it would make sense to gas out your presumably starting DT instead of using the 6th OL

I really like Gainwell but he really hasn’t been:

Been that way in the Premier League as long as I can remember.  Heck, my former employer sponsored the referees at one point.  Ever watch golf?  Lot of promotion there. If the US follows the way of soccer, your jersey goes out of date when you’re wearing last year’s sponsor.

This team's 3rd and 4th RBs have 25 TDs over the last 2 years. Lets cry for Trey Sermon!

Gainwell is a 4.4 ypc regular season rusher and 5.5 in the playoffs.

Scott is a 4.3 regular and 5.5 in the playoffs

19 snaps on offense in garbage time and unimpressive and slow on turns in that limited set. Thought you had the All 22.  Frankly, I loved it for looking at back ups and STs.

I don't have all 22 but 19 snaps is a pretty limited sample size, having said that he'll compete for a spot in the roster, not sure he makes it, as a Utah guy I was pulling for him but I'm not sure he's got the necessary athleticism to be more than JAG.

6 hours ago, BigEFly said:

Sermon has been a JAG so far.  He demonstrates limited vision and no burst step.  What is it that makes you want to see more of him. Frankly, I wouldn’t be surprised if Brooks surpasses him as the #5 RB before the end of TC.

Maybe I'm just tired of Boston Scott, other than against the giants he's JAG, but as said he's a good team player and was good as a KR last year, wish he could return punts.

Having said that Kennedy Brooks, no thanks, talk about a guy with no burst, not impressed at all with his limited action as an eagle .

Having said that if we're arguing about whose a better 4th 5th RB that bodes well for eagles roster.

Marcus Hayes said that the Eagles did not have a QB. He said this in summer 2022.

He is not a journalist. He is a 5th rate circus clown.
