It's special isn't it?

It's the hesitations she did before shanking it wide left that really put the cherry on top.

FIFA (same organization known for their long established history of upstanding and above board business practices) bundled them with the men's rights. It's like saying you're getting a "free" coffee in the waiting room of your dealership that charges you a ridiculous mark-up for any service on your vehicle. Or getting an extra 20% more product "for free" when you buy a box of cereal marketed as such. If you really think something that is viewed by that many people literally had zero value then I have a bridge to sell you that comes with a toll booth "for free!"

I didn't say it had zero value, I said they didn't have a buyer. There's a big difference.

Right, because nobody would ever want to buy the rights for the chance to advertise in front of one billion people. Makes sense!

I'm sure it's a big conspiracy to lose money!

Magically buyers popped up out of thin air for the 2023 world cup now that the rights were offered separately for the first time. Funny how that works, I guess.

May he f them up like the Sixers

I think you need both Kelly & Driscoll. Kelly provides the back up swing tackle that was needed plus he could slide inside. Cheap, versatile, solid lineman. I think he makes the team quite easily actually.

I think there are different interpretations of what making the team means. There are differences between the 53 man and 69 man (sixteen additional players on the practice squad) rosters, yet players on both lists are available to play games on Sundays. While I agree that Kelly would be a virtual lock to make the 69 man roster, I just can’t see him on the 53 unless there are injuries. There is almost zero downside to having him on the PS to start the season. And then you figure out the composition of the unit on a week to week basis after that.

The net falling apart like some divine judgement against such a weak attempt is the cherry on the top.

Have you followed that franchise for the past 30 years?  I'm not sure if there is any way to f them up worse.

It was staged to do that but yes, the net falling apart gave a different visual than what was planned

Following up from yesterday. Falcons wearing these beauties 3 times this year. 14 times too few but 3 times is better than just once.

Those are awesome.  Love it.  Keep them, please.

It's a great day for Washington fans.  A terrible day for the rest of the NFC East.

Up until 2 weeks ago, no TV broadcaster was willing to show the Women's World Cup over here - I'd assume a mix of time zones and commercial viability made it unattractive..Few people will get up at 1am and 3am to watch sport; even the Ashes in Australia doesn't get great ratings in the UK - which is why they do day/night games to pull in revenues from the UK and India.

Also, broadcasters are more closely looking at what is shown on TV and the revenues they get from it.  We no longer show sport on TV that doesn't generate ratings - it is cheaper to show repeats of Homes under the Hammer or simulcast a news channel.  It's not just the women's game either.  England's U21 mens team won a tournament played in Europe recently, and only 1 TV broadcaster showed any coverage, and that was of the final.  You had to go on YouTube to see any highlights.

That isn't accurate, the UK broadcasters had made a bid as part of the EBU very early in the process, and the BBC has covered every women's world cup since the late 90's, but Infantino said he wouldn't let them show the tournament  because they weren't ponying up enough dough and they were "insulting women" (which means they weren't giving Infantino and his pals enough money for their slush fund).

Their regular uniforms are among the worst in the NFL, so ....    🤷‍♂️

@paco are you going to the big "Burgundy and Sold" Party being thrown in downtown DC?  I know you said you've got family in downtown DC someplace.

No argument there.

Some of the ugliest uniforms and helmet that I've seen.

What a completely idiotic comment.  Sixers were stuck in irrelevancy for a long time prior to Harris.  He saved the Sixers franchise.

Actually  I don't have family down there.  Mom and dad are still up in Whitehall (Saquon!  Matt Millen! Dan Kopen!), sister is in DE, and schmoopies' family is mostly in Chester County.  But I did have a bunch of R-word friends who were obnoxious as F about all thing's R-words (despite no reason to be) plus I worked in DC for a couple of years*, which is why my hateraide on all things R-words is higher than the average Eagles fan.

*I was in DC 2010 & 2011 for a project.  Two memories about how ass that fanbase is:

1) Shortly after the McNabb trade, I had a cab driver spouting off how first they got McNabb and now they have Westbrook!!!  I said that can't be right I would have heard about that.  He said "Heard it on the radio, they were talking about Westbrook fighting for a roster spot".  I said "Are you sure it's not his brother with a similar name who you've had on your practice squad?".  This was followed by a comment to the tune of "typical eagles fan"  (The real Westbrook ended up going to San Fran)

2) The company I was doing a project for use to do a "wear your teams jersey to work day" with a picture of everyone who participated.  Both years they did it I counted up the jerseys.  Ravens outnumbered R-words 3-1
