Seems Garner has been better but haven't heard back things about Ricks, based on the little information we get. I think Garner has S ability too. The more players that can play multiple positions the better IMO.

I know for the SB they went with 5 active corners so I'd guess this year for majority of games it's Slay, Bradberry, Maddox, Jobe, McPhearson as dressed and then whoever else makes the team inactive. Eagles also had a small hedge last year with CJGJ and the ability to move him around in an emergency that they really aren't going to have at all anymore with Blakenship, Wallace, Edmunds or Brown the presumed S's. 

Totally forgot about CJG, his ability to play nickel in a pinch was definitely a plus 

Not sure there is anyone on the roster right now that can play safety and move down to the nickel, which is something jenkins did sometimes as well.

Those guys can be real valuable to a D.

FWIW, McLane is the only one I saw saying he didn't move. Everyone else said he was pushed down. Sooo who the hell knows. They probably did the Griddy or something.

I was making a joke.  Because we have old numbers and no new numbers for Dean,  some are using old numbers for Dean.  Same thing with Carter,  if you use Carter's old numbers, he might appear not as quick and fast.  We don't know Carter's exact numbers but we can assume that they're better than the high school numbers.  We should do the same with Dean.  Nolan Smith had better combine than high school numbers. 

Stuff like that happens in training camp, but it should also signal some potential growing pains in the first half of the season. Opening against New England should help a bit.

Hope Desai knows what he's doing. If the defense sucks this year, gonna spend the next 3 years lamenting not getting Fangio thanks to Gannon.

The defense has the talent to be very good. It was one of the best units last year, and they really kept most of their impact guys. No excuse for it to at an absolute bare minimum to not be middle of the pack, with potential for much better.

I know he’s hated in the city right now, but I still wish the Eagles found a way to keep CGJ and salvage that situation, because unlike some I do believe that situation was salvageable if they cared enough, I just don’t think they cared enough. Especially if he has a big year and the Eagles safeties struggle this year.
