Problem is they don't have anyone else on the roster working at PR.  So Covey will have a roster spot.

Yea, and that's been my biggest gripe about him....he's here JUST for PR, not even KR too. I wish he was able to contribute in other ways. 

 

How long are the 3 preseason games going to last? Was it changed permanently or a temporary thing to see how it works?

Pretty sure the baseball playoffs don't re-seed. It's why the Phillies got the Braves last year, even though the Braves were the #2 seed. The 4/5 winner plays the 1 seed.

It will most likely go to 2 preseason games when it goes to 18 regular season games.

I think the teams prefer joint practices and we all prefer regular season games.

A lot of cupcake teams in August and 7 games against Atlanta in Sept.  Lets just pass them the old fashion way.

I said, with size. Quez is 5'11" and 190. Ngata is 6'3" 215. Not saying Quez shouldn't be first man up, he should be. But I'll be happy if there's another 6'2"+ guy on the bench as well.

No I think he'll be the 3rd down back. He's simply not as good or as talented as Swift or Penny. Their play will get them the most touches.

One of the things Gowton said in his latest pod is that he's hearing all this talk about Swift and Gainwell, but he said Penny has been the best runner of the football in camp. Every time he gets carries he looks good.

This should not be a surprise, he's the best RB on the team. That doesn't mean they'll give him the heaviest workload for various reasons, but I hope he gets a lot of touches.

I still think its Swift, but it will be interesting to see. I also find it weird that Penny allegedly has the most touches out of all the RB's during camp, even working with the third team, so it seems like they aren't concerned with limiting his touches. Saturday should give some clues how they feel about all of them.

Kenny Gainwell does nothing great, but everything ok. When you put him on the field, every play in the play-book is available.

Penny is more a runner, while Swift is more of a receiver/outside the tackles runner. They're both better at certain things, but are not complete backs.

I do think Penny could be a terrific 4th quarter, closer at RB.
