Who cares about BB?  The Pats have a serious post-Brady hangover and I don't think that's ending anytime soon.  They might actually be the worst team in the AFC east this season, with or without Zeke.

I'll second this.

Reid has won (or at least come close to winning) championships with three organizations, three different QBs.  His coaching tree has Sean McDermott, John Harbaugh, Frank Reich, and Doug Pederson, Shane Steichen, Jonathon Gannon.

BB won a record number of championships, but all with Brady.  He's done nothing without Brady.  Lots of guys have come from the BB coaching tree, but none hav succeeded

Belichick's coaching tree has been comically bad as HCs (O'Brien, Mangini, Weis, Crennel, McDaniels, Groh, Patricia). It's wild.

I'm not sure if that's a knock against Belichick or not though. You could argue it's more impressive having as much success as he's had surrounded by bad coaching talent. You could also argue that assembling a competent coaching staff is a big part of a HCs job and he's sucked at it (see bringing Patricia back as an offensive coach last year).

Other than health anything you want to see in tomorrow's game vs the Browns?

lol y'all just hating...

first of all, he beat Reid in the SB.

Second, he's one of the greatest defensive minds, if not the greatest in NFL history

lastly, he took the 2008 Patriots (without Brady) to an 11-5 record and got robbed of the playoffs somehow..and a Browns team in 1994 that won 11 games and weren't able to do so for another 16 years.

What exactly has Andy Reid done without Mahomes? How are you going to say BB never won without Brady and then ignore the fact that Reid was exactly the same until Mahomes. Cringe

I get that BB hurt your (royal you, not anyone in particular) feelings when in 2007 someone pretended there was a walkthrough tape in 2001 and you then decided that pretend tape meant there had to be a pretend squared delusional 2004 tape. The Newspaper retracted and ESPN retracted but your feelings are special and deep.

Me, I know he is the best. I know Brady is the best. I know Gronk was the best (Kelce closing in) and my team beat them all anyway in 2017.

I'm good.

Why you all carry around this weird baggage is beyond me. I really worry about people who believe Deflategate is real. Like don't buy any bridges or timeshares. Avoid Nigerian Princes.

The Patriots definitely were videotaping teams and stealing signs from 2000 to 2007.  It's not a made up scandal.  The NFL confiscated lots of videos made by the Patriots which showed them videotaping coaches.  Spygate was never about the alleged video of the walkthrough but the Patriots practice of videoing opposing teams' signals during games.

LB and secondary play.

LB and Safety I'd love to see someone cement themselves into a role. CB id love to see if Jobe/Ricks/Goodrich can continue to show promise. I'd love to see if Ringo can utilize his size/speed combo too.

That's really it other than just enjoying watching football.

Nobody gets "robbed of the playoffs somehow"; you either qualify or you don't.

He beat Reid during all the cheating scandals the Patriots were facing, and Reid has fielded competitive teams most of his career, regardless of who is at QB. BB doesn’t have that same amount of success without Brady. Reid can field a Super Bowl contender without Mahomes, and has done so countless times. BB has yet to do so without Brady. If Reid gets a few more SBs with Mahomes, the conversation won’t be close, but Reid is hands down a better coach than BB. If you’re building your coaching staff from scratch without knowing the roster… Reid should be picked over BB 10/10 times.

No team should be held out of the playoffs with a record of 11-5...that was a joke but won't happen again with the extra playoff team.

I just meant it's pretty rare as it's only happened 5 times. The last time being in 1985

How many playoff appearances does BB have without Brady?

Right, so he only beat Reid because "BB cheated" . Had nothing to do with McNaab choking

and he has 4 less SBs than Belichick so he has a LONG way to go.

You're allowed to get off your knees, despite what you believe

Considering Brady was there for TWENTY years...there's 0 significance in that answer, sample size is far too low

So RunItBAck is a Skippy clone - cool

whatever that means.

Just because Reid was a past Eagles coach, I don't use speculation to support a conspiracy theory that Reid is a mastermind and had the roles been reversed with BB, Reid would have 12 Superbowl wins...

Not dissing Reid, just respecting a good (better) coach in BB. I guess it's opinion but to me the point of the game is winning Superbowls and Brady/BB have done that more than anybody, so they're my goats in their respective roles.

Belicheck has multiple rings as a DC too. Greatest defensive mind of all-time.

The Patriots will always carry that asterisk with them, and BB was a big part of it.

I think a big part of his coaching tree is too many guys got opportunities that were undeserved. They were good coordinators and only got promotions for being in the Patriot aura. There are some decent ones from his tree though. I don't think O'Brien was a disaster as a HC, but he's tarnished because he wanted to be GM which was a disaster. Flores seemed to be a pretty good HC. Saban was meh in the pro's but obviously a great college HC. Vrabel is kind of an offshoot of the Belichick tree and is fairly ok.

There is one common denominator between the entire BB coaching tree’s success — including BB himself — and that’s Tom Brady.

BB needs to do something without TB12 if he wants to be the GOAT.

1. Sydney Brown continue to showcase himself.

2. Jalen Carter to wreck some dudes.

3. Continued competition between Jobe, Ringo, Goodrich, McPhearson, etc.

4. Ngata/Haselwood/Cleveland

5. Nolan Smith

6. Jordan Davis

Would AR be considered great if he didn't find Mahomes?

Lombardi failed to prove his greatness since he only ever won championships with Bart Starr. It’s a shame that cancer robbed him of a chance of football immortality.

Are you serious or are you trolling? OK, history lesson:

Before his time in Philly, Andy Reid was a QBs coach with Green Bay when they won it all with Brett Favre.  He had a fantastic reputation of being able to work with quarterbacks, and was spoken of very highly by Favre (I give Andy partial credit for that victory, but you can do with it what you'd like).  This is what caused him to get the job in Philly (and by the way, it was extremely uncommon for a QB coach to be hired as a head coach in those days).

Andy was hired in Philadelphia in 1999, and if you're too young to remember, the team he inherited was bad.  Like, really bad.  So bad that it wasn't uncommon for the opposing teams to rest their starters in the 4th quarter when playing the 1998 Eagles.  So bad that some sports blogs thought that it was possible that the new expansion Cleveland Browns were probably at least as good (if not better) than we were.   Andy took that team to the superbowl 6 seasons later, and he did it with McNabb.  He actually took the McNabb team to the NFCCG 4 times.  Yes, no superbowl championships, but still quite an accomplishment considering how quickly he turned the franchise around.

Then, what did Andy do?  He went to Kansas City who has a 29-67 record over the previous 6 seasons, and he did it again with championships a few seasons later. For whatever reason, Andy seems to have figured out how to get over that championship hump with Mahomes and now he's got 2 superbowls.
