My question is how you came across this article

You may want to rephrase that

Can any of you fair weather Phillies fans help out another fair weather fan and tell me what's going on here?  I have no idea how the rule works anymore.

Here's a longer version of the leadup - just more of the same BS with these umps

If he "intends" to turn over the trademark without cost, why hasn't he already done that?  They team has been the "Commanders" for over a year now.  What's he waiting for, if not a check?  I'm sure the football team has the lawyers available to draft whatever paper work is needed in a heartbeat and get it signed to complete this transaction.  Are they having trouble locating a notary public?  🤷‍♂️

maybe season tickets for life instead of money?  Dude must have spent some $$$ filing the application and if he's working with Lawyers on his end he's shelling out some good loot

That would still be considered a 'cost' though, wouldn't it?  It doesn't technically cost the team, but would prohibit the team selling those seats to others.   Maybe he wants life time access to the owners' box.  That might be a true zero 'cost', per se.   Though, the food/drinks would have to cost someone something.

It means that your boy has been slurping his momma's teet his entire life.  I think the flow continues as long as it remains active.  This is honestly one of the most disturbing things I've ever heard/read.........and she still married him......

Whatever the rule is -- I know there is a pitch clock that both the batter and pitcher need to adhere to -- the pitcher shouldn't be called with a "ball" until he throws a pitch without the batter being ready.  Kimbrel had come set, but hadn't released the ball, so he hasn't done anything wrong at the moment the ump assigns the infraction.  Even if Kimbrel throws a pitch, it shouldn't be called a ball; it should just be called a non-pitch, as it always was before.

The onus here, in the interest of speeding up the game, HAS to be on the batter.  There is no justifiable reason here for him not to be in the batter's box and ready to hit.  The batter should have been called out.

I wonder what Lane said to Slay and Maddox after watching them leave guys 30 yards in the open for TDs .....

I can’t believe that story. I got some buddies who are mommas boys to the point that it’s a bit cringeworthy but this is several steps beyond that

The defense did not recognize the KC play of shifting a WR to vacate one side of the field for walk-in TD, one on each side of the field.  I'd think the DC and positional coaches should get the blame for failing to recognize the play and making the necessary adjustments after the 1st TD.  Lane might yell at the CB/DB, but the burden should be on the coaches.

Why does it seem that Flyers prospects always seem to be better everywhere else but when they become Flyers?

How about common sense rule and not artificially put a clock on something that has NEVER been on a clock.  Just make the batter stay in the box unless he swings at the pitch.  If the batter takes a pitch, he stays in the box.  If he swings, he can step out and reset.  But there's a whole lotta notta with all this and it is literally ruining the game.

They tried to 'speed' up the game... yet that was a 2 minute clip in the 10th inning and there wasn't a single pitch thrown.  Is it really doing what it is supposed to do?  Yes.  Games are shorter.  But, are the games 'better'?  Not to me they aren't.

Different Super Bowl but yeah, the coaches should be held accountable. KC noticed that when they motioned a WR toward the ball the CB on that side was coached to trade him off to the next DB inside. He was no longer the CB's responsibility. As a result, when the WR reversed and ran to the flat he was wide open. Do it one time, OK, but KC kept doing it and the coaches failed to make an adjustment. The players executed what was called so it's entirely on Gannon and Dennard Wilson.

Good riddance to both.

Regardless of sport, this usually means your coaches aren't developing the players properly and/or the scheme/system you're running doesn't utilize the players' talents effectively.  Either way, it indicates the issue is coaching rather than talent evaluation.

Because like the Phillies they can't develop young talent for crap

Not to mention that Jacksonville had scored against them using the same play.  Gannon was not a good coach.

Almost like one of them might have been distracted during the prep period leading up to the Super Bowl...  🤔

Yes indeed. Gannon strikes me as comparable to George McClellan: good organizer, terrible battlefield general/gameday coach.

And that dreadful press conference where he spouted a stream of lies suggests that he folds under pressure.

George never even ever wanted to get to the battlefield.  In his mind he was always outnumbered.   To his credit though, his abilities as a tactician meant that he did indeed need more troops to be able to combat what Lee did to him in response.
