Gannon is dumb

Is Simmons really expensive?  I assume that's why he was traded.

We play a lot of light box with two DTs and two DE/LBs who may have their hand in the dirt, or not. Already we are daring teams to run.2023-08-24.thumb.png.9272345c5511b8d61a5cdbd63bd565d4.png

Yup 2-4 look or 4i.

Hopefully whoever is getting the snaps at DL and LB can do better against the run than last year.

Cunningham gives the defense the best shot at being better at run defense but can he be just good enough in pass D that he's not a liability that gets picked in.

Ellis is obviously better in pass D  but can he be good enough against the run that he's not a liability

If it comes down between those two choices I think one takes. Chance with the guy whose better against the pass in a passing league, or one does as suggested and try to mix and match as much as possible which is tough and tougher when teams go hurry up

Guess we'll find out soon what Desai is thinking and going to do and how it all shakes out.🤷‍♂️

I'm of the belief that Vick likely could have had a ring or multiple rings if he took the game more seriously when he was younger. He didn't work on the mental aspect until it was too late

I think that's more true of Randall than Vick.  I think Vick was more a victim of circumstance, destructive personal choices and poor coaching.  If Vick had ended up with a coach like Reid from the start, he may have turned out much differently.

I was watching Vick highlights last night and his arm strength was just out of this world. He would flick his wrist and ball would go 50 yards

His natural gifts were unparalleled. Not only was him arm strength unreal, but he threw a beautiful spiral and was surprisingly accurate.

If he had Jalen Hurts’ mentality he would have been the greatest player the sport had ever seen.

I guess Anthony Richardson might come close to the natural gifts with his size, speed and arm strength, but Vick wasn’t just a strong arm on wheels… he was a naturally gifted passer.

Yeah the pieces that the Eagles need (LB, a better punter, maybe an upgrade at rotational DE, a better backup QB) are likely to be found among the coming cuts.  They have a pretty dang good roster when all we can find to complain about is those positions.

I hated the Mariota signing from the beginning but we are likely stuck with him unless there is a clear upgrade that is cut or available in a trade.  A change of scenery for Lance would intrigue me as 3rd Qb if McKee hadn't played as well as he has.

McKee has not played well.   Some people get excited when they see pretty balls,  but 10-18 isn't some great stat line.  Other teams have 3rd and 4th stringers doing better than that in the preseason.

They had already declined to pick up her s 5th year option for whatever reason so I'm sure they are thinking might as well get something for him before he walks but a 7th is nothing.

Giants fleeced them.

Simmons was a top 10 pick just a few years ago and it's not like he's been horrible so seems like cards just wanted him gone🤷‍♂️

Maybe if they tried him at LB more his stock would be up

I think Vick needed to go to jail to change his life. He was talented enough to win games with zero effort. Without that wake-up call he would have never changed.

Cardinals paid him a 4.5m$ bonus to start camp, so his 2023 salary is now 1m$ on Giants (if I read Sportrac correctly)

I'd have given a 6th. That's the kind of LB move I want to see them make vs a Queen.

Queen is on his rookie deal.  He's cheap.  the Cardinals were paying much more for Simmons than the Ravens are paying for Queen.

Out of the box thinking, but can we name Mariota the 2023 Nasty Nate winner just based off how much he sucks and how close Chip Kelly was to decimating this team for him in 2015?

Not sure if the award can cross decades.

He definitely needed better life decisions but I was saying that if he had made better decisions early on then he'd likely have multiple rings. He just didn't care until it was too late

If Vick put in half the work of Hurts, he’d have at least one ring and be a first ballot HOFer.

First...Have you actually watched him play?  Half of his incompletions were drops.  He is poised and puts the ball on target.

Second...Please name the 3rd and 4th stringers that did better than 10-18.

Third...Only you get excited when they see pretty balls.  NTTIAWWT.

The first time Randall had a serious coach he was in his mid 30s in Minnesota. Put him in Buffalo, or NY, or DC, and he would have won multiple SBs.

He won a comeback playoff game as a backup then he took them 1 terrible Gary Anderson shank from a Super Bowl.

Randall was 2nd in MVP voting 3x. The unfulfilled promise is about the strike, the injuries, and the terrible coaching and almost nothing to do with what a loser like Kotite said.

Who the heck is  running the cardinals, I mean why the heck give him a 4.5 mil bonus then trade him, let alone just for a 7th??

Either the cardinals are the most idiotic franchise in the league or there's something they aren't telling us, I'm going with the former...😒

Not really.  They got a better T in the draft.

I was referring to the other moves this offseason as well... but it was mostly a commentary on the state of that franchise.

Idk there’s always a dumb team desperate for a Qb that believes they can make him better. So it’s tough to say someone wouldn’t overpay. I wouldn’t cause since he as drafted i wasn’t as high on him. I also don’t think he’s a winning type of player and doesn’t have great leadership qualities

that said if they are the worst team and get Caleb Williams that is massive for that franchise. I wouldn’t be shocked if that happens Gannon gets canned after a year. The Texans pick is curious. If the Texans wind up being really bad again, the cardinals could somehow wind up with Williams and Harrison jr. That said i dont think the Texans are bad enough for the cardinals to get Harrison jr.

They'll get Williams, and then draft another QB in Round 1 the following year.

they can't expose McKee to waivers since he will be picked up by another team.

Maybe,  but also maybe not.   They could cut him and some team might pick him up and put him on their practice squad.  But if he gets to the Eagles practice squad, no team is likely to put him on their 53.

There will be QBs cut with better stat lines than 10-18.

If I’ve learned anything over my years of watching the NFL, there is always at least one team willing to roll the dice on a talented but disappointing QB. They’re like girls who think they can "fix him.”

Sometimes, like with AR and Vick, it even works.

I don’t know if they could get a 1st, but probably a package equal to a first. Call it a 2nd, 3rd, and maybe a player or other future draft pick.

I just don't know what market there is for him. It's a good QB class coming up in 2024.  Murray has a $50 million cap hit in 2024 and a $45 million hit in 2025.  So if you're a team like the Rams and you have an expensive QB in Stafford, a sucky roster and finally a 1st round pick in 2024, what does trading for Kyler get you?

Shoo Shoo Shoo (45 second mark)

They watched this clown get pantsed on the same exact play in the red zone twice in a Super Bowl and then gave him the keys to the franchise.

There’s always a team, a coach, a GM that thinks they can get the most out of a guy. Yeah, the money is rough, but a lot of teams that think they have QB figured out are going to see their 2nd or 3rd year high draft pick or aging vet fall flat on their face.
