Is he even healthy enough to play? He hasn't practiced in 3 weeks. I wouldn't be surprised if he made it, if he got cut or if he lands on IR to start the season. I know that's a weak take, I just don't think he's done anything to be a lock or deserve it.

I'd be fine with elevating Ward for PR and figuring it out as you go. Even if it's a fair catch every time, the team is designed around Hurts, Brown, Smith and Goedert moving the ball down the field, not ST's. All I care about is not turning it over on ST's.

Problem with Ward is it's not a fair catch every time, it's a let the ball bounce for 20 extra yards behind you, or catch it and muff it

I think people are forgetting how utterly useless Greg ward was at PR, every time he was back there one could hear the whole stadium hold their collective breath.

Not in Anticipation of him breaking a long one but in hopes that he wouldn't make a mistake.

Covey is a reliable returner, he's. Not going to mis field punts, let them unnecessarily bounce behind him or muff them and to boot he has more break away ability than ward as well.

Greg ward is a better 5th WR which the eagles rarely use.

I'm not so sure Street is. I get it, he didn't dress, but are they really keeping him as the 7th DT? Maybe they want to try to trade him?

Covey isn't a lock to me. We'll see. Not sold on Morrow either.

Overall, there isn't much to debate. Anyone should be able to get close to 50 predictions correct.

Based on what we have seen, I think Morrow makes it.  He has played fast and with instinct.

To me, Covey, Allen and Ward are really all interchangeable except Allen hasn't returned punts.  You could cut all 3 and have a good chance of getting your pick of the 3 on the PS.  If Oz can return punts, I think they roll with him.

Maybe they cut Cameron Johnston and eagles can bring him back

Cam was a solid punter, eagles let him walk for Cap reasons

How bad does their punter situation have to be if they're signing Zentner who got clowned by Siposs. That's like a movie project bringing on an actor that got upstaged by Dane Cook in a previous film.

Probably want a leg for the game so their starters don't kick

I think Tyree Jackson should be starting TE2.   I think TE2 should be a starting position.
AJ Brown, Tyree Jackson, Goedert, Smith should be the starting 4 WR/TEs.

Starter - Backup
WR1 - Brown - OZ
WR2 - Smith - Watkins
TE1 - Goedert - Stoll
TE2 - Tyree Jackson - Calcaterra

It matches a starter and a backup for 4 positions.  Seems to make sense.   TE2 might be slot or split end.  Brown could be slot, flanker, split end.

Do any of your posts ever make any sense?

Scott wasn't dressed.

Yup, I think it's safe to say Boston makes the roster.

If he were cut he'd last about 30 seconds before being claimed by the giants

Boston is no world beater but he's reliable, he can run catch KR carry the load in a pinch of guys go down and he's a great team guy, in that he's well liked by his teammates.

Thoughts … certainly not sure things:

(1) The decision not to dress Scott was made before Allen got to put any performance into evidence.

(2) One kick return does not guarantee other similar returns, and even that one return was one broken tackle from being ordinary.  But the fact that Allen didn’t go down when hit was a good sign.

(3) The Giants understand the very narrow sliver of "total performance” that Scott’s mastery of them represents.  They will make any decision about him (if they even get the chance to make a decision) based on what they see as the total picture.  I may be wrong, but I don’t think Scott would be claimed because of his age.

Burst was the wrong word. He has burst. He doesn't have any make you miss moves. He doesn't need to be Dante Hall back there but I don't see him having the ability to shake the first man down the field.  KR is ideal for him though.

"Twitch”. Sometimes call quick in ancient NFL parlance. (See Mayock’s "more quick than fast” comments).  Because of his speed, not sure whether Allen has any twitch because he tends towards acceleration.  Also don’t see enough of him to judge his route running or route tree.

Texans are even tanking preseason games

For you draft nuts, interesting tidbit on JJ from Michigan. Good sign a college kid is doing that before getting to the pros

Rumblings from practice suggests part of getting there involves putting a lot more on JJ McCarthy’s shoulders.

One practice observer shared word of enhanced pre-snap responsibilities.

“(McCarthy) has the freedom to change protections now, change plays, change routes… the full menu.”

Morrow could make it, he's just not a lock imo. He's close to being the 52/53 guy. Depends on who they want to keep and if they see anyone else out there. If they bring in another LB, he'd be the first to go from the group.

There should be no arguments about Ricks (keep) or Sills (don't keep.)

That is my assessment as well.  Sills to the PS

Fantastic comeback. Not only are you the Rain Man, you’re also Pee Wee Herman…I know you are, but what am I? You’re clown shoes, bro. You have zero insight and provide next to nothing of value. Your only purpose for being on this board is for being mocked. You have a Ridiculous Ahole Score of 11.

Let it go.  Let him blather on with his arguments and ignore them.

Maybe, I mean he's getting up there in age and it would be nice if that 4th RB or 5th WR was a special teams demon but seems those guys are harder to find than is thought.

I always bring up Brian Mitchell. Dude was a unicorn.

Played both KR and PR and was really good at both scoring multiple TDs at both.

He was a solid back up RB who could run catch block and even throw and was an emergency QB.

He also was a core 4 special teamer, running down on kick offs and punts making tackles and was also protector on FG

Those guys for whatever reason in today's league are super rare

Covey good at PR not good at KR or gunner nothing special as 5th WR

Scott good at KR no good at PR doesn't play a lot of teams good back up RB.

Allen good KR not good PR good gunner, nothing special at 5th WR

Ward bad KR bad PR nothing great as a gunner or in teams not bad as 5th WR

None of these guys can do as much as Mitchell could

If the eagles could find a Brian Mitchell it would free up like 3 positions in the roster.

Sadly I think unicorns are extinct...☹️

Trey Sermon is a goner. That ship has sailed.

All of the WRs you nerds fell in love with are as well. No seperation Ngata and and bad hands Haslwood, peace out.

The only legit intrigue is Covey and Allen, 3 LBs or 4 with Morrow making it, and do they go 5 deep at S or 4 with one of Wallace or Edmunds gonzo.

For the seasoning have Morrow on the roster, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he is cut and brought back after Week One.

He's a free agent at the end of this year, and this team could have a top 5 pick, so I'd see what it would take to get Antoine Winfeld Jr. He has a ton of injuries so we'd let him walk to UFA like Chancey, but he would be so fun.

If covey than who?

Who on this roster has shown they can consistently field punts?

The special teams minus Elliott already sucks I can't imagine they just go with some random guy back there and hope for the best.

Covey may be unspectacular back there but he's reliable and the coaches trust him.

Z … according to @FranklinFldEBUpper

Unless the team is really down on Sydney Brown, I don’t get the need to trade for a safety. They’re obviously thrilled with Blankenship as one starter and have a decent stop gap in Edmunds and Evans while Brown develops.

Not really all that surprising if it happens (murray not playing all year)

Assuming Ojomo goes to IR after cuts, Street would be the sixth DT available.

If Howie needs one additional roster spot in order to keep both Street and Ojomo and then put Ojomo on IR, as @FranklinFldEBUpper suggested Wednesday, Siposs could be cut, then put on the Practice Squad, activated in Week One to both punt and hold, and then be elevated to the active roster after Week One,

I mean, Richardson doesn’t just have great physical gifts, he has top 3 of all time physical gifts and arguably #1 … of all time.

To me that’s different than a run of the mill talented but raw QB. And the context is a draft that wasn’t very strong at QB. So you gamble on greatness, because you aren’t going to get a chance to acquire that skill set ever again.

Richardson’s biggest knock is his lack of experience. I do think sitting him for half a season might benefit him, but he needs to play as well. It’s a tough spot. He can learn the playbook but he also needs to play because he didn’t play much in college.

You are right... and that's where the tricky part comes in for a coach and why there are so few truly great QB gurus.  Chris Palmer was talked about as being one.  Nope.  There was talk about Adam Gase, because he was linked to Peyton Manning... but late career Manning.   And he's proven to be a fraud too.   The guys like Bill Walsh, Mike Holmgren and Andy Reid come along very rarely.  And they walk that fine line between playing too soon and getting them experience like very few ever have.  AND they can communicate with those QBs and help them to understand that the slower approach is actually in their best interest.

I hear the need to draft the guy because of the opportunity coming so infrequently, but at the same time, I disagree with their method of developing him.  Throwing a guy with so little experience into the deep end of the pool could have disastrous consequences on his development.

Ironically, it was considered to be a weak QB class, yet had 3 QBs drafted in the top 4, but I agree its not a strong group.  I don't see a lot of success coming for this crop.
