Injury thoughts:

I know everyone wants this game, Lane is a warrior, and if he's fine, he should go.  But we all know how fragile Lane's body has become.  His career almost ended due to problems with his other ankle.  If this is exacerbated into a season ending injury for him, it's a season ending injury for the Eagles.

I am going to lose my mind if he (predictably) plays a series and then limps off the field just to not be seen for the next 8 weeks.  It's just not worth the risk.

Well, given that none of us have access to his medical records on this injury, we can't know the severity of this injury other than... it wasn't nearly as serious as they originally thought.   🤷‍♂️

We can just watch and hope he's really good to go.

I agree. There’s too much talent on this offense to be performing as poorly as they are. Rushing him back isn’t worth it, especially playing for an OC who doesn’t seem to really know any creative concepts and isn’t willing to go the extra mile to have a unique offense.

It is a bit of a concern.  Back in the day, that's a highlight reel block.  He was also dinged up significantly in college.   It's likely not time to put the moniker on him, but definitely worth monitoring moving forward.

I'm not saying he is injury prone or anything yet. Just starting to get a little concerned with how banged up he seems to be from the start of camp till now.

Well, in 7 games (counting Miami), he has missed 2 and left (I believe) 3.  Only choice is to get him back healthy and see how long it lasts.

I was about to do an exercise to figure out which moves to make (restructures, cuts, etc) that would make sense to get them to a healthier place cap wise.  Then I saw Derek Carrs contract

Derek Carr signed a four year, $150 million contract with the Saints on March 6, 2023. $100 million of the contract is guaranteed, with $60 million fully guaranteed at signing. Per PFT, Carr received a $28.5 million signing bonus and his 2023 and 2024 base salaries are fully guaranteed. If on the roster in March of 2024, a $10 million roster bonus due in 2025 will become fully guaranteed. Another $30 million in salary in 2025 will be guaranteed if on the roster that March. Carr has a no trade clause as part of his contract. We are assuming that the Saints included a void year for salary cap purposes but that is not yet confirmed.

The Saints are very much the Aints again.  It's just middle of the road bleh from them, and it's great to see them in that salary cap hole and being that bad

Good for our 2024 Draft too

Took all of a week to figure out Brandon Smith has zero football IQ/instincts. Vildor was not impressive at Chicago but who is.  Maybe a viable option at nickel.

Vildor is probably better than Goodrich if it's comes back around to that.

Nothing like getting to the airport for a 1:46 PM flight only for it then to be delayed until 6.

I would have bet you were the blog member most likely to be on a no fly list besides @hputenis

Yeahhh…except I buy from there frequently. Multiple times a week, and also utilize a lot of the other services included. And the whopping $140/yr is well worth it. But keep sticking it to the man! :lol:

It isn’t even $140 a year.  The 3% cash back more than covers that.

Consider yourself lucky.  Earlier this year I had a similar experience, but the wait for the flight was 36 hours

@mattwill

I take full responsibility for the Phillies' loss yesterday, as I did not make a prediction for the game.   That will be remedied tonight.

Big win tonight for the Fightin's...  8-4

Bonus:  Phillies get more than 4 hits with RISP tonight against the Dbacks' bullpen.

@mattwill

Eagles 31

Dolphins 27

Jalen Carter 2 sacks

Consider yourself lucky.  I complained, and they gave me a boarding pass for Flight 33.  I did compile quite a few points, though.

That’s kind of what I was thinking as I typed that.  With Dean back, they are back to VanSumerin as the only LB on the PS. But three nickel CBs and Garner, a "DB”.  Howie has been churning the PS of late.  The Nichols for Koback move seems a step back.  Think a slow Sermon for Nichols.  This ain’t Central Michigan level competition.

Depends on the airport and location. 36 hours in the right place could lead to some decent tourism if you know it is going to be that long.  Frankly, six hours is a drag in the wrong airport (airports without free Wi-Fi and crap for restaurants).

There's still time for this to get delayed further.  Not exactly hopeful that 6 pm takeoff is going to stick.

Just think of me roasting out there while watching the game tonight

@mattwill

Eagles 20

Dolphins 34

Bonus T.Hill 2 TDs

Espn talking the game right now saying Jalen Carter trending negative to play???
