There are several parallels between religion and sports fandom.  Humans are spiritual by nature.  When you think of religion, terms like 'faith', 'belief', 'passion', and 'community' come to mind.  Those are not so distant from being a fan, or rather, fanatic.  We have faith in our team, passionately root them on, and share the experience with a community of similar beliefs.  (We're here, on a message board, discussing a game.)

There is the old joke..."Only <insert team name> and Billy Graham can make 50,000 people stand up and yell 'Jesus Christ'."

The parallels of faith are valid except the Eagles are actually real

No Jalen on the Injury Report

Reed FP that's good

Niners vs Bengals Sunday

So Hurts is dealing with an injury not on the injury report

Is that considered failing to report an injury designation?

So the Castallanos trade talks, the guy had 29 HR, 106 RBIs for the Phils this year with a .271. That's NOT insignificant production, who are you replacing that with if he's moved?

It is awesome being on the field. Happened for me against the Cardinals when McNabb broke his ankle. My cousin's wife's father used to drive the injury cart for the Eagles that was shaped like the helmet back in the day so we got to be on the sideline for the whole game. It was amazing. However, my mojo probably made him break his ankle, so...never again.

Oh yeah?  Well my brother's uncle's niece's grandfather's sister used to drive the Oscar Meyer weinermobile, but then @hputenis hijacked to see how many hot dogs he could cram in his butt at one time and then they impounded it so they could do forensics on it.

Who cares?  Just get rid of him.  This team can't afford for him to be a black hole when it counts every year.  As an example, we'd be better off with Harper back to RF and Hoskins back to 1B.

Maybe they're claiming he's healthy now but didn't he just say he was dealing with an injury?

Any replacement you get for him is likely to be worse, so I doubt you'd be fixing this issue with someone else.

General soreness may not need to be reported.

I'm sure Lane's ankle is still tender.

Why?  This is for WA, not us.

Well yeah, but it didn't use to be this way. Coaches used to give updates on their injured players in detail. The only reason they don't now is because self-important NFL people think it's some impactful competitive advantage to hide it(it isn't). We're talking about a league where NFL people ask rookies at the combine weirdo questions because they think they're psychoanalysts. It's a league completely full of themselves on pretty much everything.

They were the most boring part of Reid's press conference, but I miss the days of starting off every one with injuries and the specifics of them.

#1 seed now becomes a race between the Eagles and Lions.

Everyone has something they’re dealing with by this point in the season. If you remember, Kelce messed up his ankle for most of the year but was only on some of the injury reports.

Injury report is specifically for injuries that will impact their practice and game availability. If Hurts is unquestionably FP and game ready, he won’t need to be designated on the report. Reed was on the report before, so this is just updating his status before he’s removed. Doesn’t mean Hurts won’t be added later, but for right this moment he and the team believe it’ll have no impact on his ability to play Sunday.

Eagles have a tough schedule it's most certainly still a 4 team race.

Purdy injury might give Eagles some breathing room from SF for 1st seed. That Detroit schedule is cake though

They’re never going to give us a diagnosis on what Hurts is actually dealing with. My guess is it either happened in the Minnesota or LA game. There was a clip of him in the MIN game planting for a cut, going down, then getting up slow. And then the one in LA where two guys collided into him and his leg went a weird way. But part of me thinks it may have happened before the season because he hasn’t really looked the same running in any of the games this season.

They’re not idiots though. They know exactly what it is, I’m assuming he got an MRI to confirm there isn’t any structural damage, and hopefully they confirmed that this isn’t some RGIII situation where if he keeps playing with it there’s a chance he’s jeopardizing his future. I still think they should sit him on Sunday, bring him back for Dallas, and then the bye week off.

49ers have a tough schedule too.  They will be sitting on 3 losses after this weekend.  They are no longer in the race.

The Bengals haven't been special this season, Purdy could play still this weekend, but if not, I wouldn't be stunned if the Niners won with Darnold. Especially with a pissed Niners team coming off a loss. Honestly, if the Niners are dogs in that game I'll probably bet them.
