No, I ASKED who the last non-QB was who went for more than 1 first. I then looked it up myself and it was Ramsey for 2 firsts and a fourth to the rams.

Bottom line is you are just wrong that anyone gives a crap about where someone is selected in the draft when they’re in their third year. It’s totally irrelevant. You yourself proved the point by listing a bunch of busts. The same goes for great players. KC took Mahomes in the middle of the first round, but would demand a decades worth of draft picks not because he was a first rounder but because he’s the best player in the NFL.

Yet again, there is literally an economic term for this that every NFL GM understands, and it’s called the sunk cost fallacy. No one gives a crap where you were drafted. All that matters is how good you are, your age, your contract, and maybe your injury history.

But isn’t "your age, your contract” (your words) pretty much a direct reflection of when and where you were picked? With Surtain’s age, we can deduce he was drafted recently, and his contract would suggest he was a top ten pick. So it sounds to me like you’re admitting that the sunk cost for the Broncos DOES matter.

That’s a take. What did he do to give off a "morally superior aura”?

Maybe being the apparent ringleader of the "Let’s not go to the White House” movement. That certainly rubbed me the wrong way, especially since I had passes to the event the next day and was pissed that the team didn’t show up. I went anyway because who the hell wouldn’t want to visit the back yard of the Presidents residence?

Let’s not make this a political thing please. But that’s one answer to the question that was asked.

Presidential visits are dumb anyway.

Not really. There are tons of 5th and 6th year seniors that enter the draft. Waddle is 2 years older than Surtain and was taken ahead of him. That’s about 40% of an average player’s career, so it’s huge. Surtain is exceptionally young for a draft pick.

Yes, your rookie contract is a reflection of where you were taken, but it’s not where we’re you were taken that matters, but the money and years you are owed in relation to your level of play. No one is saying, "oh, that guy was the #9 overall pick — he’s worth X now.”

They’re saying, "he’s an all-pro with a rookie 2+1 contract.”

You should see it when they drop into Bagram for 12 hours.

He did more off the field for the community than 99% of athletes that come through here ever do and helped us win a superbowl.  Awful take.

And he made sure everyone knew it

A prominent sports figure used publicity to fundraise?  What an a-hole!

Again awful take.

I always respected Jenkins for the thoughtful and respectful way he went about his activism.

I know someone who went to be a police officer in Harrisburg who got his picture taken with Jenkins and Torey Smith (and one other I cant remember) when they were there to discuss issues at the state capitol. BIG eagles fan. In a time where it was cool to hate the police, those players werent there to draw a line in the sand and make enemies. They were there to unite, and move things forward.

He wasnt just talk. He went to see politicians face to face. He didnt kneel at a football game, which does nothing but devide people. He took real action.

What I hate about him was his insult to our intelligence on his way out the door in his thank you letter to Philly. But I guess I gave way too much credit for intelligence that did not exist. Because a ton of people still love him.

Sorry, confused you with someone else.

YES! It is literally totally normal and literally taught in every business school in the world to not consider what you paid for something when selling it.

What you should consider is "opportunity cost.”

In this case, Surtain on the remainder of his rookie deal vs whatever you could get in return for him.

Here is an example:

You paid a million cash for a house. Someone offers you $750K cash for the house. You then find a better house than you own for $750K.

Do you take the deal? Do you want to trade up to the better house even though you paid 1M for your original house and will only receive 750K for it?

Whatever you say

It is funny how some people can be disliked for just a 'feeling' people have or one specific incident while others can be generally terrible people prove it over and over again and people brush it off and say they like them anyway

Jenkins is a miniature Lebron James.  Love him, hate him, admire his activism and politics or resent them.  Your choice.  But they are cut from the same cloth.

LeBron is a social media activist who puts pictures of himself reading a book on Instagram. Jenkins at least walked the walk, participated in marches, met with decision makers, etc.

 Of all the dirt-bags we've had on the team, it's Malcolm Jenkins that you hate the most?

Yeah, I mean, we've had so many tools come and go. Like actual garbage human beings who say and do awful things or are just flat out ass holes, but somehow Malcolm is the guy that sticks out as the absolute worst? That's just amusing, I guess.

Malcolm Jenkins is one of the best Eagles of all-time. Unlike Brian Dawkins, he actually showed up in the playoffs.

Off the field, the world would be better with more people like him.

Not really. Jenkins put his money where his mouth is way more than LeBron ever has. The only connection is the "shut up and dribble" crowd dogging both of em for silly reasons.

That's not to say there aren't valid things people can dislike about Jenkins (see HE's post). I'm not even sure I agree with HE but it's at least a valid grievance. But shitting on him for doing too much public charity and activism is just straight up dumb.

HIs fashion sense offends me.   The bow tie needs to go.

And shame on the USA Today youtube channel for calling him an Eagles CB.  He was always a safety here.

Outside of the Cooks hit in the Super Bowl what plays did Jenkins make in the playoffs?  Dawkins had his moments in the playoffs.

Jenkins 14 playoff games...64 tackles 2 sacks

Dawkins 18 playoff games....65 tackles 2 sacks 4 ints

Dawkins not showing up in playoff games

Easy fella - you want to take this outside?

Jenkins biggest contribution was knocking out Cooks. Thankfully he was lost in coverage like always
