Yep. Figured the Vikes wouldn’t mail it in. 8 wins may make the playoffs in the NFC

With their schedule it’s realistic they could get to 8 wins if dobbs is just solid which in the nfc might be enough.

Dobbs is not their messiah lol

They're not trading Hicks , seriously doubt it

Wonder if Cousins plans to make it back for the playoffs too

Outside

Who does he come in and replace then?

I can see where it makes sense for them and I would assume they have talked to his agent about what he is looking for in a deal.  Yes, they wouldn't give up that pick to sign him as a FA but they don't have to worry about the market driving up the costs.

Scarcity is a big issue - but when a FO puts out big trade capital they are going to get hit with a max contract as the player has a ton of leverage.

You might be right but Dobbs isn't their savior. They'll just fall back this year.

If I'm reading into the Commies and their business model, my prediction is that they will not trade Chase Daniels.  The plan was to move one of them, and to tag the other.  Now that Sweat is gone, Daniels stays.

I could be wrong possibly, but I'm fairly certain Chase Daniels retired last year.

Heh, whoops.  Chase Young!

Trading Chase Daniels for compensation would be a real trick.

Good for Dobbs.

~$24m coming off next year with Cox, Graham, Mariota, and Barnett on their 1-year deals.

I don’t think Milton is going to get as much as some of us think. But even if he does I feel like we’re always able to find and hold depth at DT wether it be vets or rookies.

Not to be that guy.... but lets face it, I am that guy.... but they are all on the books next year with a dead cap hit

Dead Money:

Cox - $14.3 million
Graham - $13.2 million
Mariota - $3 million
Barnett - $4 million

I don't think a back up QB for Howell is really the asset to keep.

They are going to try to win with Dobbs regardless of what we think which means no Hicks

Yes I mean I'm not necessarily disagreeing. Just that it will be their fallacy.

You might as well just have Cox and Graham on the roster for another year then

Not much maybe they will sell Hicks

That tells me they are trying to stay in it. Doubt they move him.

Typically, the names thrown out in rumors for the Eagles don't happen.

But if they trade for an outside corner when they need a slot corner are they going to move someone to the slot?

"Gonna make you sweat til you bleed!"

Vikings could still trade some guys if they view this as a reset year while still staying competitive.
