After what we saw from Goodrich tonight (a lack of physical talent coupled with a lack of awareness), I wouldn’t be shocked if that’s the plan moving forward. Josiah Scott is better than Goodrich.

Jefferson had 159 yards receiving so I guess Scott is better than Slay as well?

Okay.  I can buy that.  What do you see as the solution to that?  Or alternatively, what steps would you have taken to avoid it?

Bradberry’s concussion was just part of the game.  It is violent.  Blankenship’s ribs was the same.  Neither of them are fragile players.  Maddox on the other hand definitely is fragile.  But even with that said, when you look at the depth/backups around the League, which teams have the depth you are looking for?

I’d like to trade for a safety that has some versatility to play safety and some slot in case maddox gets banged up. Like they did with CJGJ at times last year

Giving a little too much credit to a Vikings  D that had all offseason to game plan for a loss to Baker Mayfield at home.

The Vikings defense was pretty bad last year. They were 21st vs. the run and 31st vs. pass last year. They made a ton of changes but they still aren’t very good. Id be surprised if they were in the top 2/3 of the league in rush defense by the end of the year.

I wouldn’t call it nastiest but it was a shot by Harrison.

Did 34-27 Eagles prediction get it done this week?

Good news guys… we can get back to the Phillies tomorrow.

Yes it did.  You and @bbabraham share the honors this week.

What would you give up in the trade, and what player do you have in mind?

Depends on who the player is what I’d give up. I’d have to look. Only team i think that believes they aren’t going anywhere this year is the cardinals and willing to make trades. I’d love to get baker but i don’t see that as realistic.

I think @FranklinFldEBUpper would have noticed this as well, but Hurts was snapping the ball too early several times during the drive that started the fourth quarter.  Usually with 10 or so seconds on the play clock.  If he had been more efficient, we wouldn't have had to punt the ball at the end of the game.

Yes. We were discussing that at the stadium.

The new binoculars were fantastic.

Can't understand why Sirianni elected to kick the PAT with four minutes left. I'm still pissed because it's so f'n absurd to not try for two. What's weird is that Sirianni has usually been very smart about stuff like that. I've been told that he wasn't even asked about it during his postgame press conference. That's a terrible job by the media if that's the case.

Hurts taking a sack to knock them out of field goal range was ridiculous. So too, I thought, was trying to pass there. Third and long. Just give the ball to Swift to let him try to improve field position for the ensuing field goal. And if you're going to throw, you simply cannot under any circumstance get sacked.

And I called it. On the Vikings last drive when they had third and fifteen around midfield, I casually told my nephew, "You know they're going to convert this, right? Not necessarily on third down, but they WILL get another first down on this possession." I hated being right.

Happy for the win. Not pleased about a lot of what happened but wins are good. They can play a lot better.

It was windier and chillier than folks might have thought.

Overall, that was a pretty solid game, the defense was a minor miracle given the injuries on the back end.

If what Penny did was holding on the Brown TD, but their left tackle wasn't holding Sweat on the TD that took them to 21 then I need the holding penalty explaining to me, because I don't get it. The non call of PI on the second shot to Brown was just <chefs kiss>

There were clear improvements from Sunday, even if it was far from perfect, at the end of the day If you can put up 34 points and 454 yards of offense playing below par, then you're going to royally kick somebody's ass when you clean it all up.

2-0 can't ask for more than that.

The thing with Hurts I will say and it doesn’t apply to this year or even next, but down the line I don’t think he’s a guy who can carry an offense. If they eventually go the route KC did with Mahomes and give him Skyy Moore/Kadarius Toney type receivers to save money, it will get ugly and they’ll be back in the doldrums.

It’s not necessarily a knock on Hurts because there aren’t many guys outside of Mahomes who can make that work. But they need to continue to keep him surrounded with talent on the outside and a good running game with a good offensive line. That will be a challenge to do a couple years down the line.

Patrick Mahomes won't be able to get it done with Sky Moore and Kadarius Toney either once Travis Kelce hangs them up.

I don't even know what we were doing there, most of the time Slay was following him round the field, but some of the time he'd be covered by a scrub, the play in the second half where Goodrich had to be told to follow him across the line when he motioned pre snap was like "WTF are we doing?"

Jordan "Bust" Davis

I’m glad AJ had that little tantrum on the sideline he was getting open all night. The Eagles should have won by at least 21 tonight but Hurts is regressing. This one read then run offense isn’t fooling anyone. Brian Johnson isn’t do him any favors either so Eagles need to use this time off and figure this out cause this will turn into a train wreck quick.

They rarely use Boston Scott running the ball.   I'd love to see him returning kicks instead.  He is more likely to break one than Covey.

Covey is bad.  Boston Scott might be GLew 2.0.

2-0 against what could very well be two playoff teams

Jakes 61 yarder was in to a "stiff wind”.

Said the range for that side was really only supposed to be 50 yards.

My biggest concern during the preseason and training camp was safety. Didn’t know if Reed could last all 17 games as a starter. He had a hope he could. Your other three safeties and Wallace aren’t good enough or weren’t ready. I think Brown is going to be fine in the upcoming years, but he’s a rookie. If you’re asking a rookie to start right away, you’re going to be in trouble. Evans shouldn’t be a starter. And edmunds imo is just a jag that was once a highly touted draft pick. They are gonna need to make a trade at the deadline to solidify the other safety position or they are gonna be relying on brown to make a jump into the role and hoping he figures it out in the toughest stretch of the year.

Blank is okay, he just played a little strong and got a foot to the chest. It happen sometimes when you play with a lot of power and effort like he does. He's good enough, just has to work on avoiding awkward stuff like that.

I think that's being a bit over complementary for those two teams.   VIkings over/under was 7.5 (Same as the Bucs). Patriots 6.5 (same as the Bears).   Neither one was looked at like a serious playoff contender to start the year.

Good to be 2-0, but had the Eagles faced true playoff contenders in either game, chances are high they take at least one loss in these two games.

The O Coord sucks, no preseason mixed with injuries to me looks the problem. Jalen looked better second half, we know he is amazing he proved it last year. He was ass, ass looks to be fixed.

BIRDS - 34

VIKINGS - 17

JALEN - Rush TD (Had  2 Rush TD's)

AJ - TD (TD Called back)

GOEDERT  - TD (Nope)

DEVONTA - TD

JAKE - 2x FG (Jake missed one could have had 3)

DEFENSE: INT, Multiple Sacks  (Got a Fumble)

Last week I guessed the Patriots Score (20).  This Week I get our score (34).   I think we should have won 34-14 but Kurt ran up his Stats as Defense also started prevent in the 4th QTR.  Bottom line, waking up to 2-0 playing on the Thursday after a short week bad weather road game.  I have no complaints.
