Was already an awful trade at the time, and is way worse now that he's out.

If I'm Howie, I'm on the phone with the Panthers offering one of the Eagles 2nd round picks for Brian Burns. The Panthers don't have a 1st this year so giving them an extra 2nd might be more enticing on their end. They need draft capital.

If they balk at a 2nd, I'm going Eagles 1st and Quez Watkins for Brian Burns and Jeremy Chinn.

I wouldn't go with a 1st because Howie is using his 1sts to balance the cap. I'd have the same reluctance but not as much with a 2. In the best of worlds, a 3rd and Barnett for Burns.

He hasn't been that bad this season.  Issue is they uabe the worst defense in the NFL.

We've had the benefit of multiple 1st round picks the last few years and have been picking with the luck of bad teams giving the Eagles top 10 picks. That's not the case this year and they are most likely going to be in the 24+ range. The jury is still out on Nolan Smith, but this is where Howie does his worst 1st round drafting. Unless the Eagles have a top 10 pick, their own 1st should always be looked to trade for an experienced young veteran. 

 

Is there a chance Roby gets elevated and plays this week? He really might be the best option at Nickel.

I say no chance. If you read all the tweets yesterday from the beats there was a clear message from Howie being sent to the fanbase of basically "be patient with this guy".

Then I guess Brown will play the slot. I think they will definitely move Bradberry back outside. Kupp and/or Nacua are too small and shifty for him in there.

I mean, maybe it's possible. He's a vet after all and was in TC with the Saints. I just thought it was weird how they all said in their tweets a form of "he's going to the PS to learn the system first and get in game game shape". Like 6 of them all said that within one minute which suggests they all got that message from the Eagles. Unless it's just "competitive advantage" or whatever.

Guessing they want as many picks as possible to make a move in the draft to potentially get the Qb they want. I’m curious to see if surtain becomes available. I think he has the most value on that team and he’d be worth trading the capital for cause he’s young and one of the better CBs on the league so you are set for a long time. Also versatile and can play inside and outside.
