I know there are a lot of varied opinions about Hurts, but the one time he had continuity at OC he was second team all pro and one Gannon D meltdown/borderline holding call away from a Super Bowl MVP.

Let’s all hope Mannion is both good and sticks around for at least a couple of years.

Put a bunch of this together for passer rating (TD% INT% YPA completion%)

*Note: Purdy is 147 attempts short of 1500 to qualify. He had a really good 2023. It still counts for about 33% of his career.

Hurts is in that 10-15 range as a passer only (if the league outlawed QB rushing)

Its about as meaningful as saying Allen is not QB1 if you don't count his rushing.

Neither are in the Rodgers / Mahomes career category as a passer but both are better NFL passers than Mahomes from 2023-25

Mahomes was #1 all time through age 27 and has been a bit below average from 2022 to present.

Its possible that Nagy is that bad and was a huge factor. We will see in 2026.

Add in Hurts' rushing and his playoffs / SB performance and he's playing like a HoF QB.

IF he had to only pass (like when he is 35+) his passing numbers can get better with lots more red zone TD passes.

Lawrence's career numbers suck but he is in his best situation now with his best coaches and support.

He should start to move up the rankings over the next several years. (but has a long way to go)

In the same way you can expect Hurts to have better passing numbers with new coaches who have backgrounds in good passing offenses.

Siri getting lobotomized may also curb the pathetic conservatism in the second half of games.

Stafford had some peaks with Megatron, Kupp in 2021, and this season before the playoffs.

He had 7 turnover worthy plays in the 2025 playoffs. He was closer to garbage than greatness.

Its really weird to forget 2022-24 and his entire career before LA because a pro-Stafford agenda appeals to you.

Its fine to put him in the Hall of Fame. Its stupid to pretend he is great.

Vinny Testaverde is 18th in career passing yards and 19th in career passing TDs. Eli is 11th in both.

They are ahead of Joe Montana (20th and 21st) in both categories.

Lifetime accumulation mostly means you played for a long time, not that you played well.

Testaverde is 140th in passer rating.

Eli is 68th

Montana is 27th

Montana was 117-47 (.713) as a starter including 17-8 (.680) as a Chief at age 37 and 38.

Testaverde was 90-123-1 (.423)

Eli was 117-117 (as in 70 more losses than Joe Montana with the same wins)

Stafford is 120-118-1 (.504)

Burrow is 43-33-1 (.565)

Allen is 88-39 (.693)

Hurts is 57-25 (.695)

Lamar is 76-31 (.710)

Running for:

4721 and 79 TDs (627 and 10 per 17)

3554 and 63 TDs (650 and 12 per 17)

6522 and 35 TDs (956 and 5 per 17)

has a lot to do with all that winning.

The Bills were 8-8, 7-9, and 9-7 in the 3 years before Allen.

The Eagles were 9-7, 9-7, and 3-8-1 before Hurts took over.

The Ravens were 8-8, 9-7, and 4-5 before Lamar.

The Rams were 13-3, 9-7, and 10-6 before Stafford.

Stafford is 46-28 (.622) with the Rams.

It's easy to avoid turnover worthy plays by taking no chances and being content to punt. To use that stat contextually, they should be contrasted with "big-time throws." Stafford had 11 of those in the postseason according to PFF. Sometimes offenses need the QB to make plays in order to win. That's how QBs end up winning MVP awards. No QB is winning MVP by just throwing the ball away.

The problem we have seen is when Jalen takes more chances, he often gets more criticism because of a turnover ... or he, "was lucky that wasn't a turnover." As a fan, I'm okay with taking a few more chances with the understanding that turnovers will increase slightly. But not every fan has the mental fortitude to deal with negative stats. Jalen has the talent to be an MVP level QB in the NFL, but he has to make those critical positive plays that help carry the team in order to do that. It could be with his arm or his feet, but he just wasn't able to carry the offense this year playing as cautiously as he played.

@brkmsn Are you a "Stafford was great in Detroit but his team held him back" guy.

Its a hell of a take to coexist with 2025 was Hurts' fault.

2025 Hurts had 3665 yards 33 TDs and 10 turnovers in a horrific offense.

Swiss cheese middle O-line

Playing hurt or out injured OTs

Sloppy penalties

WR1 did not try 30% of the time.

Worst OC in NFL History

Worst OC-HC offense combo in NFL History (nepotism fraud)

2024 Stafford had 3803 yards 20 TDs and 10 turnovers.

2023 Stafford had 4028 yards 24 TDs and 11 turnovers.

2022 Stafford had 2096 yards 10 TDs and 11 turnovers. (9 games)

That's 54 TDs to 32 turnovers during a 3 year period when Hurts had 105 TDs to 38 turnovers

From 2022-25 that's 100 TDs to 43 turnovers for Stafford

Hurts had 138 TDs to 48 turnovers

QB1 Allen had 165 TDs to 62 turnovers

Mahomes had 127 TDs to 51 turnovers

Herbert had 101 to 41

Burrow had 117 to 41

Dak had 106 to 48

Lamar had 117 to 51

No. I'm a "it doesn't bother me that there are QBs in the league that are better than or having better years than Hurts" guy. I don't expect every player on the Eagles to be the best ever at their respective positions and I can admit when there are better players on other teams even if it means I have to rank some QBs ahead of the one I root for (Jalen Hurts).

When it comes to specifics about Jalen, I am against whomever decided that Jalen should run less and I'd also like to see him confidently thread the needle more, trusting his receivers to make the play even if taking more chances slightly increases turnovers (it's a trade I'm willing to make).

My words are my words. Read what I type and don't try to claim I'm saying something I didn't say. It's pretty easy to quote somebody on a message board since it pretty much does all the work.

The Eagles had the result they did this year because of many reasons. It's a team sport. On top of that, they play other teams that are also trying to win. Nobody is just handing anybody a win. All teams have penalties, miss blocks, have poor execution by key players on some plays, have weaknesses and can make excuses. Fans always point fingers at the personnel they don't like and make excuses for the ones they do like --- just like you did in the post I am quoting.

Jalen is capable of playing like a league MVP. He did not play like one in 2025. I don't think he had a bad year at all. He just didn't make the MVP type plays that elevate an offense when it needed a boost. Almost every week, he said (in some form) that he and the offense could perform better, but they very rarely did. Do you think Jalen was lying?
