Oh look who have known each other for 20 years

According to the DA citing witness statements, they were asking him to stop, not threatening him or simply drawing down on him. I don't want to speculate, but I find it hard to believe these guys without prior histories of violence would shoot someone in the back for fleeing or run over him. Perhaps if either had criminal histories that showed a tendency to be violent, but I don't understand how you can speculate they'd gun someone down for fleeing if there's nothing to back it up.

I'd also disagree that most would instantly attempt to fight two armed individuals asking you to stop. IMO, almost no one would do that. Even under duress, I think I'd be able to recognize that's an instant death sentence.

Explain how Ahmaud would know that in the heat of the moment.  They had no legal standing to confront him according to GA citizen's arrest law unless they WITNESSED HIM COMMIT A FELONY, which they did not.  Trespassing is not a felony.

He didn't initiate this altercation.  THEY did.  Two dopes were following him in two trucks, then got ahead of him and approached him with loaded weapons.  I'm not liberal, but I also don't victim blame in an obvious scenario of fight or flight initiated by others in which a guy made the wrong decision.  He didn't pull the trigger, nor did he approach a stranger with a loaded weapon.  You're sounding worse by the second.

I never said these dudes were totally exonerated or in the right. I'm simply challenging the narrative that a group of dudes hunted a black kid for sport becuz trump. They confronted him with weapons, he initiated the life or death struggle for the firearm. It was going to end tragically one way or the other from that point on.

backpedal & argue against a claim he imagined in his own mind...classic kz.

What would you do in that situation? You can't answer that because you not a black male in the south though.

Of course he wouldn't know.

According to the DA they only needed "probable grounds of suspicion" to perform a citizen's arrest. Is witnessing him trespassing in an area that's experienced a rash of burglaries enough to meet that standard? I don't know. Apparently the DA felt it was enough, but I think there's a solid argument that could be made either way, don't you?

Are you talking about the original DA that I just showed you has know the family for 20 years and stopped the arrests at the time.

Come on man these dudes are murders and deserve to die in prison.

I would probably try to wrench the gun away and shoot them with it.

But burglary is, genius. We can only assume the DA believed that the dudes had "probable grounds of suspicion" for burglary.

In case you hadn't figured it out yet, burglary requires felony theft.

So this is the part where you provide the evidence or first hand knowledge that Arbery had stolen something while jogging.

I think there's a very strong case to be made that they aren't murderers and might not deserve to die in prison.

Again, they needed "probable grounds of suspicion" that a burglary had occurred. I don't think they needed to actually witness him physically taking something to achieve "probable grounds of suspicion." I could be wrong, though.

Probable grounds of suspicion has to be a first hand account. Because if it's second hand knowledge then all I need to do is go find anyone who's gun crazed and willing to make a citizens arrest and tell them Kz! broke into my house and stole stuff and they'll have "reasonable grounds of suspicion" to go chase you down in the street with a shotgun.

Come on, dude. Probable = reasonable. It's reasonable to expect that citizen arrest laws were made to ensure that the citizen be 99.999% sure they've got the right guy or we'd have stupid sh** like this happening every day. So, knowing that, they'd either had to have seen him commit felony theft or have indisputable video evidence showing him committing felony theft. They don't have that video. The video they do have is him walking around a construction site, nothing more. Which is why these racist f-wads have been arrested and a federal investigation has been opened into how the DA handled the case.

I think you're wayyyyy off with your definition of "probable." "99.99% sure" or "indisputable video evidence" to achieve "probable grounds of suspicion?" No, that's just way off. Sorry.

They're hard to see, but he is wearing very nice jeans.

Is that Vermin Supreme?

Can't a white guy just take the law into his own hands and shoot black dudes in this country anymore? Geez. MAGA.

I need to not open this thread when in public. That picture above on my phone isn't smart:lol:

Weird jogging road route, but ok.

I've done that while having my house rebuilt after a fire. It's interesting as hell looking at how it's being built. I did that to houses that weren't mine too lol

Also that police cruiser was flying down the street. Holy crap. I couldn't tell if his lights were on

Don't know why you brought up Trump but this is scary as hell. People trying to get in your house with guns and they are there for your child

That had to have been horrible for the mother to go through.

This one really makes you think:

Problem is if you go for your phone to call the police they may open fire and claim you were reaching for a gun

Ignoring and continue running wont go well either. They may just gun you down

Waiting until police arrive is hoping the police even know.

Peaceful resolution seems good but you'd have to be very careful not to freak them out to fire on you. They also may not want to even hear your side of the story

Attacking may sometimes be the only option sadly.

No idea what I'd do. I've been jumped a few times in my life but never had a gun pulled on me

Yeah, it's definitely a situation I hope to never find myself in. Honestly, a lot does depend on the lead-up to the confrontation. Did ask him to stop like the DA said witnesses claimed? Did they just roll up guns drawn shouting? Did they just point the gun at his head saying nothing? It's not easy to tell, and it might change how he would react.

That said, I still feel like the only feasible outcome when you try to wrench a loaded gun away from someone is you wound up getting shot. I feel like that's probably the worst choice you could make in that situation.
