You mean what ELSE could go wrong.   The defense is already all kinds of wrong.   I don't know that I like the idea of Rivera... but maybe he could bring a bit of that '85 Bears/Buddy Ryan style to this team.  This defense needs a backbone, not a wishbone.  I'm just sick and tired of watching this defense play softer than the Stay-Puft Marshmallow man!

 

Maybe if Lurie wasn't shopping for yachts, we could've made these decisions quicker and we could have brought Nielsen in for an interview.

I'd be on board for this, but seeing as he interviewed for the Commanders HC a day or two ago, this is a no go.

Don't you wonder why it is taking Bieniemy so long?  His name has come up for several years, but he never gets the next step.  

If we're shopping for an older hand at DC with previous head coaching experience, then Leslie Frazier and Mike Zimmer should be interviewed.

We're likely wasting another year with a roster that can do better. We're full circle this time next year. At least that's my gut feeling

I’m sure the Eagles were in contact with him late last week. 

1) We know Howie and Sirianni were contacting people as early as Wednesday

2) Howie would want to line up a DC for the next coach if they had decided to move on from Nick. Think about Schwartz and Doug.

Rivera might not be an exciting hire, but he would bring a calming influence over Nick. 

How about Mike MacDonald as a potential D Coordinator with defensive play calling duties - possibly offer him a co-head coaching position in order to bring him over from the Ravens?

Wouldn't it be great if these guys would come clean about who was responsible for hiring Desai, demoting him, handing the D to Patricia, and then firing him?  That person is primarily responsible for the team's epic collapse this year.

So of course they'll obfuscate.  No chance they come clean on this.

Macdonald might get a head coaching job and I’m not leaving baltimore defense to coach the eagles defense. Better shot at getting a HC job with the talent baltimore had then what I’m working with in the eagles defense

Then let's give him the HC job.  It's just a matter of time until the position is open after this season. I sure wouldn't pass on him to see if Siri gets better.
