December 11, 20241 yr Stout not just teaches technique…he knows how to reach these players. Becton was a cancer with the Jets that pretty much stunk. Made Fred Johnson fairly serviceable when he had fairly extensive opportunities elsewhere that failed previously.
December 11, 20241 yr So I guess nobody here actually will take up the challenge of educating themselves. Tried to have us group breakdown the Giants game with our pass blocking. It was horrendous. Absolutely got dominated! But everybody can just take whatever rating numbers from whomever instead. Prop it up like it’s pure factual stats. Many reasons for the pass blocking challenges this season. Had injuries, lost Kelce(who ran the whole thing while playing at such a high level as a team leader)….
December 11, 20241 yr Run game blocking we’re built to dominate. Not just a high win rate…routine domination blocks. So big…so powerful…has any Oline ever compared to the pure size matched with actual athletiscm? I have never seen anything like it. The Hogs in Washington were tiny in comparison.

He’s gotten to a very challenging position right now with his personnel and assistants. Cincy just has never been a good job. He’s done very well there. If they fire him I’d be fine with us hiring him as our HC. He’d make my top 5 available choices. Why would he be our HC? You are still living in the world where Siri gets fired?

So you think Moore definitely gets hired as a HC next year? I don't really see it as anywhere near a lock.

Having a bit of a tough season this year honestly. Even with the Oline issues he still is getting plenty out of them. I think his make should be paired right with Saquan in the record books when Saquan breaks the all time rushing record. What are the OL issues? They are top run and pass blocking line. With 2 backups where they didn't miss a beat.
December 11, 20241 yr Just now, joemas6 said: So back to reality... at least Slay made a few plays Sunday... but they continue to stay away from Mitchell. Slay has been battling through all kinds of bumps and bruises here to play ball. He’s giving up plenty of catches. But not too bad for that Weak CB. He makes a couple plays to offset some. Made a key play at the end…but then wasn’t he responsible for blowing that final play that their WR dropped? Don’t think Slay is making it much further here. His age really been showing week by week ever since we got him. Very likely it’s Isiah Rodgers here when the games really count the most.

But he’s leaving. We lured him in by announcing Siri wax CEO HC stripped of power over the O. Don’t believe Moore takes the job if he knew it would be like it has been.

But got plenty out of Fred who really isn’t very good. Watched his film and he tips off what he’s up to most every time.
December 11, 20241 yr Rewatch the Giants game I tried to get everybody to do as a group. Out pass blocking was pathetic. Not like kind of bad…instantly QB group mob attacks. I can’t honestly rate every NFL team’s pass blocking to compare. So I’m not knowledgeable enough to do all that. Run blocking we are probably second best at. So those grades would raise up the overall numbers that the passing grades should be down to.
December 11, 20241 yr I mean our Oline has had flat out obvious just assignment miscues this season. A bit surprising from a Stout group. Dickerson’s worst pass blocking season ..not even arguably. Becton may have actually discussed benching for Steen because of how he pass blocks. Becton is just so hit or miss. He freaking lifts big men up and tosses them…or completely whiffs. Jurgens been good…but not perfect.
December 11, 20241 yr You guys all just using PFF or whatever ranking but refuse to review the tape and try and keep that opinion. The film shows we didn’t even try to pass much on Saquan’s day. Truth is we couldn’t have thrown much if we wanted to. Their Dline dominated us! Flat out.
December 11, 20241 yr I just posted a link breaking down this last game. Watch that even. Pass blocking issues this season. It’s been clearly going on. Not like eventual pressures…quick immediate losses. Surprised me these times some of our huge guys even get bull rushed back just terribly.
December 11, 20241 yr I don’t know about everybody else’s opinion but…I don’t feel confident in our close the game out D. Panthers had us. Got smoked by ATL. D plays fantastic most all the season. But with little clock left and the game on the line…our D has come up strong once. But really just pathetic here a couple of times. Not feeling confident in our D closing out at the end. Just completely blown it against nothing special QBs.
December 11, 20241 yr Can’t remember which game…but the D made the stop clearly once at the end. Give credit there.
December 11, 20241 yr That P was a thing of beauty with Maddox pinning them. But even having to go the length of the field wasn’t too much. Pretty much negated the whole passing up the field goal attempt.
December 11, 20241 yr 3 minutes ago, cunninghamtheman said: Panthers ending was Slay AND Ceedy supposed to shut that down. Not good. Not like a brilliant pass where great O beats great D…he was gone way past them. But now I see Ceedy had a receiver pulling up short with no other defender to cover for. So I let him off the hook on that.
December 11, 20241 yr Jalen Hurts was asked about the amount of criticism and attention he’s receiving right now "I tend to thrive in moments like this”
