I just think they handled the situation badly all around and we were left with little choice. ???? What do you mean? They handled it the best way possible. They allowed the player to explore trade options. They gave him control. The ability to find his value. You don’t think the players and agents around the league see that and appreciate that??? Then as you say, the value " isn't terrible" ...I think it's pretty good if it ends up being a 2nd round pick. You don't think the idea that Rodgers only plays one more year entered their mind? It's probably why they wanted 2026 and not 2025? The pick absolutely has the chance to be in the 30s. Other than you wanting Reddick to play hear.... how did the Eagles not handle the situation well?

Nothing against Boyd,he's young a talented enough to play in time if the keeps progressing

We can disagree about the 1 pick, but he's the only first round lineman we visited with. And while this is not set in stone,it's a little indicator to me. All the RG's we visited will go after round 1 which is fine. Nothing wrong with a round 2 IOL. I know we looked at Brenden Rice(Jerry's son) who is a better WR than Smith, but they are different types. I prefer Malik Washington from Virginia, but Smith was my first "call" and IMO the TOP slot WR in this draft. It would be a great addition to the room and he can start now or work his way in and start next year since we got Parker and Campbell already. I'm old enough now that we are seeing stars sons appear in the draft process(McCaffrey and Trotter also)
March 30, 20241 yr Author So the Jets got Reddick and we got Huff from them. We got a future round 3 possible 2 future pick in addition. Almost like a player swap with added draft capital. Seems to me we made out in that scenario
March 30, 20241 yr Author I have seen some mocks that have Latu going at 8(and I think that is way too high). I doubt Howie would jump that far,but I think we see a QB and WR run early enough that he could fall within range for a possible move up

March 30, 20241 yr Latu a curious injury history, esp when the docs told him to hang it up and he goes out and balls. HR's hired a few of the walking wounded.

That was 3 years ago,he healed up,transferred from Washington and has been kicking ass ever since. He wanted it so bad he worked overtime to get back

They didn't specify what the injury was. They said if he kept playing he could become paralyzed,so it was a major injury, which is upsetting and big chance for a round 1 player. The Eagles med team will be busy on this kid

March 30, 20241 yr Author I like Latu's ball awareness as well. He's tall and when he drops into coverage he can block throwing lanes with ease(barring a deep rainbow pass)
March 30, 20241 yr Wouldn't mind one bit hearing we took the money saved on Reddick and signed Simmons

Right now our DL is Carter/Davis/Milton I know some are high on Tui and Ojomo but would be nice to see another vet added to that group but I’d image we don’t do anything really until after the draft

You said $13 mil was cheap for him.... well, would you rather have Barkley or Jeudy for the same money? If you have money, get an elite player that impacts the game at a position that costs less...than pay the same money for a mediocre player who really doesn't change the game much at a more expensive position. I would never pay $13 mil for a WR..either get the $20 mil guy or save your money. Same with a $15 mil QB... it's an expensive version of a guy you want to replace.
