FB and also plays LB,but he was doing a nice job on ST's. It's a low rate no big deal signing. Maybe they can turn him into something

It's a nice signing...he was doing well at FB before getting injured.  It seems the idea they are going to continue to keep running the ball.

https://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/team/players-roster/ben-vansumeren/  IDK-JMO but he sounds to me like he should be playing TE. He has receiving and RB skills, so this should be a no brainer. Needs to add weight and he's a bit short, but has TE skills already Just wondering why he has not tried this position move. It could benefit his career. This is like what I did in HS, same experiences, but I did shine when placed at TE. He needs to come out and define his position and not play all over the map

FB, backup LB....and ST... perfect fit

We have 2 S's, And some oddballs we really could use one for the future and this kid fits the bill IMO. He's a "bruiser". Late 1 early 2 but I wouldn't sleep on him. KC is looking at him

Yeah he’s a versatile guy it’s good to be at the bottom of guys you dress on gameday

He will be OK. If he was such a star talent they would not have signed Dillon,so obviously he has a ways to go

Star was autocorrect on me…but he is a dynamic playmaker you’ll find out. Dillon is just the compliment to the two guys ahead of him in the room. He isn’t Shipley.

As long as he dresses he is part of the team

Dillon was the exact kind of third RB to fill out the room I’ve been looking for. We also have two young RBs to compete for that third RB niche role.

Dillon didn’t get signed thinking he was better than Shipley…at all

Depends how Dillon does. If Bark went down could easily see him become the 1. Really need to see more of Ship to know

If Ship was ready to go there is no need to sign Dillon

The Philadelphia #Eagles are expected to hire Georgia assistant quarterbacks coach Montgomery VanGorder as an offensive assistant, sources

He didn't get a carry until week 7?  When it was a blowout.   How were they trying to get him involved?  He had basically a red shirt year.  No meaningful carries until Gainwell got hurt vs Washington,  and even then it was pretty much just when Barkley wanted a rest until garbage time.

Now 2025 should be a different story.   Listening to Andrew Decceco ( I didn't spell it write) ... the team insider,  he expects Shipley to be the #2.  Dillon as a compliment to Shipley in the event Barkley is hurt... and being the garbage time RB.

They were getting Shipley involved in some two RB sets and some things that just didn’t pan out…then they adjusted the O. You had to pay attention…but they did make some effort just ti get that third Arab on the field. Then when he did get to touch the ball…boom! He’s a good player..I’m high on this RB. Dillon was signed to be number two at all. He’s exactly that RB that is a bowling ball filling that niche need for Barkley and Shipley. Really…he’s competing with the two young kids even for that role. Dillon is that bowling ball that can block, catch and do those short yardage runs….the banger back.

There is a need though…like I was even suggesting last season. He isn’t any threat to Shipley. Shipley is a dynamic playmaker. Just wait!

No surprise, he needs to pay his dues before becoming a starter. he will be at least a "decent" RB. Time will tell if he can carry the load

I don’t know about much if any of this. It’s his second season. He isn’t overtaking Barkley…I mean..c’mon. But he’s a heck of a player!

This is the guy DWD has been drooling over….

I’ve been thinking part of the trade is we’ve been rumored, even last season, of adding Simmons. He’d step in bring that vet leader to the Secondary with Slay gone. Already been in Vic’s D. He mentioned really thinking very highly of Parker our DBs coach. But we need him to wait until after the draft and be a second wave FA signing for our comp pick gains.

Dillon isn’t close to Shipley…Dillon isn’t taking over as a starter if Bark goes down. Just not who he is. But good signing…he’s versatile and can do everything. Bring him in on those physical runs….to convert…and to beat up the D. Clearly have a role Dillon can fill. Block, convert the short yardage and wear down defenders trying to deal with him,

Barkley isn’t that good at the short yardage physical runs. He couldn’t get the job done several times…so we HAD to finish with The Brotherly Shove. Barkley was effective when he cut it outside and beat defenders to the corner to score. Shipley looks good on the physical runs. But Dillon is that guy. Shipley very dynamic pass catcher. Dillon probably the better pass blocker. So…gives options…RBs with different traits…nothing but a good thing to have options.

There is a mid round Georgia QB in this draft…Milroe

You aren’t thinking of the whole RB room and having guys possessing different traits

It’s no even so much about who’s second and third on the depth chart…it’s situational football.

247 pound bowling ball …let’s make the defenders deal with tackling him…especially the non Dline defenders.
