I know your disgust for the hardworking, fundamental, popular team player like Gains because you can't write a movie about a guy like that... but those fundamentals allow teams to run the full playbook. You all love Shady...but forget two awful efforts in pass blocking that got Vick and Foles injured. While the " choking" Barkley was dominant in pass protection and blitz pick up when it mattered at the end. The fundamental stuff that isn't flashy is very important in the game of football.

I would also have liked Najee Harris Think about it…they weren’t shocked and surprised Shipley made the big play…that’s your third string Rb. They already clearly been working on his very next level skills. He’s a talent! It wax a very good draft pick. We haven’t been able to really see him do his thing yet…but wasn’t because he wasn’t capable.

Gainwell was Siri’s boy …being forced in even as a rookie. Gainwell’s gone now though…Shipley is a whole other level. Just being forced in with so many touches... again perhaps because Sanders couldn't pass protect if GB or MJK were blitzing ( all due respect) and Scott sucked except vs the Giants. They needed someone to protect your boy.

Dude was never really forced in he was our only capable blocker when we had swift… even last year spelling Barkley Gainwell made plenty of key plays for us…. Gainwell was about as good of an all around backup as you can get in the NFL

Lol... you mean running the ball with nobody near you!

Right ..I liked Gainwell for the versatility reasons. He’s seemed to understand situational football also. We could trust him to do his job being a vet. But sure…I agree…the dynamic young playmaker waiting to be unleashed…I’d say his pass blocking would be his area he needs to improve the most on.

Gainwell was about as good of an all around backup as you can get in the NFL Plus a very popular teammate... you don't get that way playing RB or WR ( positions that are naturally selfish in nature) ...due to his work ethic and unselfish play. It just doesn't fit Ham's agenda of writing the movie. He needs the flash.

Yet Gainwell never did sniff Sanders rookie season as a receiving back before Siri got here. Gainwell wasn’t some stellar pass protector either. But at least had a brain …unlike Sanders.

Remember 2017 SF cleared cap.. how about Siri in 2021 You must love Wentz then...because it's only about 2017? But... now that both Sanders and Gainwell are off the team... we will compare production for the rest of their careers. You called Sanders a " special talent" so we can see now.

March 13, 20251 yr Shipley is going to take the 5 yard Gainwell carry and make it 25. Gainwell just didn’t have that burst and explosion. That’s why I just couldn’t go along with your(No Mas and FL) plan of Gainwell being our starting RB in whatever committee approach. He’s a versatile RB that can do everything decent. Trust him to come in and do his job. Nothing wrong…or bashing about saying that.
