Orlovsky thinks the Commanders are closing the gap on us

That's a typical comment at this time of year.....when free agency is a few days old.  The things that the commanders have done have improved them somewhat but at the cost of draft picks this year and next.

The eagles lost a bunch in free agency......but what's not talked about is the depth they have to fill those holes.  Not to mention, Howie has added a couple one year deal guys, has 8 draft picks this year and over 10 next year and other trade assets.  And I'm sure Howie isn't done with free agency.  He also will be wheeling and dealing on draft night.

Washington is under new management and doing a good job.  They have done some nice things but they don't have much depth and that takes time to build after building a competitive roster.

Maybe Washington has narrowed the gap a bit, but it's very early in the off-season game and there is a lot of things that can happen.

I believe the gap is closed..  we all have the same 0-0 record....all gaps are closed.

But nothing matters until they start playing games in September

That's basically true from a record standpoint.  But the Eagles have,, what is widely considered, as the better talented team.

But we all know that talent is just one thing that determines a team's potential.

It's true that once the games start, factors like injuries, expectations good and bad, momentum and a host of other things will effect the "talent gap".

Commanders have a bunch of cap room to spend. We lost talent. Pretty basic observation..like FL noted. Kingsbury and Daniels getting into their second year together having that better LT…we’ll see what they can do.

Who knows maybe the cowboys will be really good this year…..ohhh I can’t even stop laughing trying to type that😂🤣😂🤣

Be very obvious with Siri’s boy out of the way how dynamic a playmaker Shipley is. It’s a win for all of us!

Again you keep saying a dynamic playmaker what about the other parts of what we need from our backup RB lol…

Im happy if he can break a big run but can he get us the 4 yards consistently? Will he consistently secure the catch? CAN HE PASS BLOCK!!!! Super underrated trait for Gainwell.

I’m ok with a guy that can do the dirty work and consistently give me 4 yards as my backup…. To me the consistency far more important for the backup RB then the splash plays

Simmons is going to cost money though. Adoree was cut…not counting against the comp picks

Is he though he signed for a 1 year 7.5m deal with the Falcons last season…. He is 31 turns 32 in Nov. can’t image him getting some huge deal

That’s around what we lost Rodgers signing to…I’m assuming being our fourth comp pick. If it’s greater ..they’ll supposedly round up and take the Becton earned comp pick…I’m just assuming he’ll get signed to good money here before too long. Unless….he is understanding very much about the comp formula and believes his best shot is to return here in the second wave of FA after the draft. Just all me thinking out loud…take it for what it’s worth.

Yes Shipley is just a better all around version of Gainwell that’s more dynamic possessing  that burst…great hands…power rusher…good vision….so yeah he most likely needs to work on his pass protection. Let’s not get all crazy like we’d rather have some JJAW type WR situation…though Shipley also is a ST contributor.

To type in can he block in all caps for a skill player …shows you aren’t looking at things the same as me. I’d answer back in all caps…if I did such a thing…he’s a dynamic playmaker!!! Sorry if you’ll have to settle for that while he improves his blocking.

He’s working on finishing his 60 yard big plays into TDs and his blocking year two.

New England with an F grade for paying Williams.... lol.   I still can't believe he got $26 million... lol.   This could work out great for us, if they need to cut him after two years.

Becton can return here at any time, it doesn't change the comp pick formula by waiting to come back

Might as well pay a good hard working good character locker room room player like him. Terrible FA class. Pats had money to spend coming out of their ears. Rather pay a guy like him that…than pay a guy like Huff what he got paid.

It does if he doesn’t sign anywhere before the draft. Then we have nothing to lose anymore.

All around ... means all around... if he isn't as good of a blocker, then that isn't all around.   Again, due to the stick ... which you need to get rid of... it prevents you from realizing that Barkley is the best RB in the league, he will play the bulk of the snaps... the backup RB doesn't need " dynamic playmaking"  he needs to be fundamentaly soild so that we can run the whole playbook.  protecting Hurts is key when you don't play that many snaps.... 5 yard runs to keep the chains moving while Barkley is resting to go along with protecting the QB, that's ideal.

Until he needs to play a lot more snaps, dynamics aren't important.

Jets lost a 3 and gained a 4 from the Reddick situation

When yo set the market, that player needs to be a standout.   Elite player.   Huff wasn't paid anywhere elite $$.

And again Gainwell consistently over 4 years gave us 4 yards a carry… JJaw had 16 catches in his career Gainwell had 16 catches last season alone as the backup RB.

Again consistency paired with plus pass blocking to me is definitely more valuable for a backup RB than splash runs.

I hope Shipley can be that guy he had the skill set I agree but he is no doubt worse at pass pro and he hasn’t shown anything outside of garbage time…

7.5m last year he is a year older now had an ok season with ATL and we just shipped CJGJ to free up money and he was set to make like 8-9m.

Just don’t think we would get an older player and pay him more then CJ

Eagles are open about willing to trade Geodart and Huff can’t image either will get good returns though….
4th if we are really lucky for Geodart maybe that seems like a stretch

will be interesting to see how that holds up... this is with classifying Reddick as a LB, not an edge rusher.   Probably drop to a 5th rounder

Clearly we want to move on from Geodart any guesses who we want at TE in the draft?

Loveland, Ty Warren as the top two guys both are projected in the top 20 though

Fannin jr as a 2nd round TE from bowling Green we did hire the former Bowling Green HC Scot Loeffler as our QB coach definitely have some insight on the guy

Mistakes are hte key... needs to avoid mistakes as a backup.    Ham will point out the few missed blocks from Gainwell... but mistakes can be made in a variety of ways, fumbles, key drops, missed assignments.   Stuff we don't even see.

Siri didn't all of a sudden play to win vs Cleveland... there was a reason Gainwell played so much before Barkley came.  It wasn't to carry the ball a lot, it was all the other things that Sanders, Swift, Scott didn't bring to the table.

We have Barkley now, the need is less, but still paramount to avoid the big mistake.
