Goodell can't fine ATL for having direct contact with Cousins unless they found proof.... that's why there was no shot at us losing a pick because they weren't just going to make up direct contact with Barkley and Howie. It's not a " pre legal tampering period issue" never was about that.

Because it’s a clear track record of Goodell punishing people for things they weren’t found guilty for. So …don’t tell me he can’t punish anybody without them being found guilty. He does it routinely.

I am explaining to you what the specific actions were.... it was obvious by your original post when you brought up losing a draft pick... that you assumed it was about negotiating a contract with Barkley prior to the start of legal tampering... because all you did was discuss that. I was trying to point out to you that it was about something different. Then you quoted all these rules etc. All that didn't pertain to the situation.

What did James Franklyn saying Howie told Barkley that there are PSU fans in Eagles nation tarnish the appearance of the league. It was simply did he talk to Barkley before Wednesday... black and white. Because James Franklyn says something Goodell would fine the Eagles? ATL got fined because they found the phone call... Cousins admitted to wanting to come use the gym. They found phone calls setting up travel stuff with the other players. Nothing that makes the league look bad, but simple technical violations... so they got a small fine of losing a 5th round pick At no point was there ever investigations of negotiations prior to the legal period opening. You just assumed that and did your deep dive in that rabbit hole which I was trying to get you out of.

But his zillion dollar paychecks keep coming…so he finds a way to manage.

March 24, 20251 yr Seth Payne was just glowing in an interview about Vic Fangio. Said he made him extra millions of dollars. That he’d never been exposed to any coach that ran a D like that before. That Vic gives the Dline some feee licensing to wreck havoc in certain situations and coverages behind him…sometimes. Such a hybrid 3-4 scheme that lets its Dline still attack like a 4-3. Good stuff!

When did I say Gains was "my boy"? Never happened because I never said it. Obviously he was good enough to keep around for 4 years in whatever limited role they had for him? I don't care about Gains either way. See, you just make up lies and state them as fact. Very childish
March 25, 20251 yr Author At any rate, I hope Dillon can spell Bark enough to keep him fresh and possibly extend his career. I love Bark off the field also, very humble, great family man. If he decides to play later,I hope he remains an Eagle for as long as he can perform. If Bark should go down with an injury, I have faith Dillion and Shipley can still move the ball for us. Need to nail down the RG spot and find a BU for Lane, then I can rest a little easier. Maybe Steen is the guy,but he sure got booted out by Becton pretty quickly. He is probably fine as a BU. We shall see what happens there. We brought in an insane amount of "other" TE's hoping to find one that sticks, but really we need to draft the guy that will be here for the next decade

Ehh...I would argue that most of the teams follow the specific rule that got ATL fined for violating, it's pretty easy and doesn't give you any advantage for breaking. For example the Eagles follow that specific rule, that's why they really had zero chance of getting fined. Just like I would think most people go slightly over the speed limit when they drive... but I'm one to look at specifics, not lump the guys who go slightly over the speed limit in with guys who commit domestic violence. But to each their own, I guess for some everything can just be lumped in together and they can just keep spinning and spinning and getting off topic. For some the color napkins at a wedding are just as important as the quality of the food, for the normal people things aren't all equal. To each their own.

March 25, 20251 yr https://phillycovercorner.com/2025/03/yes-jalen-carters-extension-will-be-over-40m-a-year-and-will-be-worth-it/ Good article predicting Jalen Carter's next contract. The chart right after showing Devonte's contract with the breakdown of how cash and cap hits would work, using the 5thyear option and void years is excellent in showing the typical Eagles deal. Basically has the deal at 5 years $153 mil from 2026-30. Using the 3 year extension from the 5th year option. Could see similar structure with Jordan Davis... obviously with way way less #s. Cam should see a structure like Dickerson with the 4 year contract extension ...obviously with less #s https://overthecap.com/player/landon-dickerson/9501 Great illustration is showing how the " shell" numbers of an extension really exaggerate how a contract is really paid out, and how the Eagles use this to their advantage by doing this early and forcing teams that wait like Cincy and Dallas to screw themselves by having to keep up without the benefit of using the rookie deal to bring down the actual #s paid out and counted vs the cap. Dickerson " 4 years $84 mil" should be $21 mil per... but they pay out $7.9 mil, 19 mil, 20 mil and 21 mil respectively. Carter projected " 3 year $126 mil extension" should be $42 mil per ... he gets paid $33, $33 and $34 mil respectively Cap hits way lower ... you look at CeeDee, Chase and Tee Higgin's deals... way more costly to the teams. Great points in the article too... 1. the annual increase in how the cap has gone up... showing projected $390 mil in 2029 2. The DT position has already increased by way more than he average position, the Eagles could have the advantage of using those gains to keep the price lower for Carter.
