Now our RB coach should be able to write his own ticket when he chooses. But he stayed. I’m a big believer that Shipley was an excellent draft choice. Saquan had a dominating all time season. Gainwell had his peak offseason last year. So I’m not reading anything into Shipley’s low touch count experience his rookie year. Did take notice that Moore did even still have specific designed formations… pretty early in the season even …just wanting to get Shipley on the field in two back sets. If I take my already formulated opinion about Shipley out of the assessment. You had to pay real close attention…because the answers and signs you won’t find just looking at the stat sheet. What I noticed was the coaches were seeing things in practices enough from Shipley that they were actually implementing a two back formation just to get him on the field even pretty early on in the season. That speaks volumes to me…in the circumstances and situation.
Is there any situation you could really have belief in a guy having the ‘goods’ that doesn’t have production in a season? Everything about the position Shipley was in his rookie season I’d point to as exactly why I wouldn’t hold not getting touched against him. When he actually did get a touch? Whoa boy!

So RB I’m not placing huge value on considering this coaching related strategy.

Everything for me points towards Christian Parker. Passing Game Coordinator and DBs coach. Heck of a coach. Heard testimony from players that have played for him being very strong in support. Our passing D was 31st ranked he took over. Complete transformation. Sure we added talent. Just can’t even see how his job performance could even be debatably not stellar. So he’s getting a DC job in 2026 of his own.

So should we really go after drafting DBs? Get them that top excellent coaching from Parker. Got DeJean and Q topping last draft. So I can see how back to back drafting DBs isn’t really spreading things around every position group and room. There is that argument to be made. My point is how high of value do you place on Q and DeJean getting that coaching from Parker to begin their careers? My thinking is absolutely crucial. Short term it worked out great. But thinking long term it’s even more valuable to their whole careers building off that ideal teaching right from the start to build from in the future.

Two years at the beginning  of a players career I believe is the most crucial. Are they learning to do things to build from the rest of their careers with the right foundation? Or are they cementing bad habits and surviving on athletic ability to overcome?

So I don’t know if any starting positions in the Secondary you could say are even open to be gained….certainly not just being handed over to anybody unearned.

So those completely basing everything only on team immediate needs? Probably won’t like this whole idea.

Nickle is every single teams Base D. The old days of 3-4 or 4-3 really are quite dated. In 2025 you should be beyond those designations. You are running both…mostly things have evolved to you are running a hybrid of both. Dime has plenty of opportunities to be utilized as well. So if these are the top two…or even two of the top three personnel D needs? You need a bunch of DBs. No way around it. You are starting five DBs in Base. With playing 6 fairly often has become routine league wide.

5 DBs are starters. With a needed 6 DB package very regularly. That’s on the field most every play. So factor in injuries….because you can’t rely on 6 DBs regularly as a main staple of the D…if you only have 6. Unrealistic to believe nobody ever gets hurt and misses a series…more likely every single year…one goes down out for the season, others vary out for a game or two during the season. I don’t have the actual data to support my statement…but watched football enough to feel very confident this is just routine fact.
So how many DBs does every team in the NFL need? How can your number be less than 8?

8 in its most basic form you could look at just simply as starting D plus is backup outside CB, backup Slot and backup S. How can you feel good if you don’t at least have that?

I’m more actually thinking way beyond just this simple thinking even. Because without injuries you can easily get 8 DBs on the field in a game. So many different roles and looks any DC would salivate to be able to throw at the opponent. We don’t just have anybody at DC…I’m straight labeling our DC Vic Fangio as elite.

I like Ringo and believe Sidney is ready also. So even with me being optimistic about our most unproven penciled in starters at those moment… I still am seeing a crucial need for more.

This is just the short term thinking even. Which you aren’t really just thinking about with drafting players. The hope is your getting players that will be Eagles for ten years.

So does anybody believe there is any merit to this logic towards the draft? To target players based on starting their careers with top coaching that won’t be here after this season?

Even with considering the value on this thinking I could see plenty believing that’s already what we’ve done. Our whole starting Secondary is young.

Lurie made a statement. Says they don’t talk about contracts to the media. But said without saying it …Siri is about to get a huge payday extension.

He said Siri is our coach

Hurts had the highest EPA per dropback of any QB ever. That’s advanced analytics of extra points added.

So this is exactly what I keep making points about believing is so much more crucial and important. Big game pressure…I can’t do anything with guys that wilt on a football team in these situations. A guy that’s great against bad teams early on the season but chokes under pressure …where does that get you? Big stats and ticket sales in the regular season..but going home empty in the games that you must win.

So is FL’s opinion about Hurts based on his first series in any game without a red no hit jersey on…that out of his own endzone…with Dickerson getting beat…can’t finish his throw…becomes a spectacular interception by an elite S. Is that really where anybody should be forming their whole main opinion about any player based on? Or is that the very least moment to factor in? Clearly I think it’s the least relevant about the actual players performance.

Just feels like pretty much this whole board just can’t accept and love…how about just appreciate …what Hurts does? Feels like my first assumption towards you guys thinking is you’re caught up in so strictly basing everything on traditional past logic. Which we all do to some degrees. We’ve all been watching football a long time. Seen such spectacular players. So my attempt to help you is to just realize what Hurts does. He’s not an egomaniac. He doesn’t glory seek stardom. He doesn’t make decisions based on personal stat chasing. He has always been completely focused on winning. He’s really done nothing but win for us. Unbelievable record. That’s under a different OC and playcaller every season.

So what if he doesn’t mimic traditional prototype for successful QB. I actually thinks it’s great! 😊 see him as actually redefining what actually everybody should be viewing a QB as doing.

He deserves a quality payday…..but nowhere near Creed Humphrey who stands alone up top

Correct...as Ive stated... about 98 times... 18 mil for the top guy ... Jurgens should get around the $14 mil # going forward... simply because we are talking " extension"  that would not hit until 2026... so the $18 mil for Humphrey in 2024 ... the $14 mil # in 2026, but also locked in until 2029 .. where he can't get a raise .. seems absolutely where the # will be when looking long term for a fresh 2026 extension... right at the #2 current 2024 amount for C.

Again for time 99 now... much less than Humphrey

But lets make it an even 100 times just so even the most learning disabled person who might read this could understand... We should not be talking the $18 mil Humphrey #.... and why not.... time 101 ... not talking $18 mil Creed Humphrey 2024 #, but rather a 2026 # of 75% of the amount of that Humphrey #.  Which if you take inflations... throught the 2026 -2029 years... is probably about 55% of the value.

It's going to be DT or edge. I've called it since the beginning lol.

Kinda feels that way.  But then again, if all these guys are saying the DL guys are quality in the first 3 rounds... perhaps we see something else first if that player drops and then we go DL later.  Be surprised if we didn't see DL by the end of day 2.  Not sure I can say that about any other position.   I could see a DB, OL, TE  But if we make 3 picks in the first 2 days, DL you would think would have to be one of them.
