He only had the fifth best winning percentage of any NFL coach in the history of the game.He definitely wasn’t doing a good job.Yeah this is barely fan speak…washing by all the details with everything happening. 2-5 hole he dug is that everybody else had to overcome to make the playoffs. How did Hurts ever survive that trainwreck of his first starting season? Near impossible! Absolutely franchise changing.

His strengths much more surrounding working the trades, knowing the markets, calculator….getting out of the other lanes so much more for Fangio to takeover was a huge success for Rosie. His evaluation of Baun as a pass rusher wasn’t quality. Listening to Fangio convince him Baun was a good Off Ball LB changed the D.Who is a better GM ?

Not the 17 rush attempts per game...not the 40 pass attempts per game. They run the ball, he runs when it's used as a counter ( watch that opening drive of the 2nd half in the Superbowl) he makes his passes... that keeps the D off the field. That's perfect.

Further when Saquon was signed, Gainwell continued as RB 2 through the end of his contract. So Howie made ABSOLUTELY NO CHANGE in his approach to Gainwell or to RB 2. He paid RB 2 the same in 2024 as he paid RB 2 in 2023 … within a few dollars. So the original question stands, "Why should anyone care about whether Gainwell makes the roster in Pittsburgh?” Your answer "Would think any Eagles fan enjoying winning the Lombardi does.” is simply ignorant.

You get 30 or 40% right...that's great, because it's less times that you have to attempt to solve the same problem. Look at SF for example...the decisions that Lynch made at QB. The Giants decisions at WR and OL?Teams make mistakes on the same issue multiple times. ... that's normal

May 14, 20251 yr Barkley was just a beast blocking in the Superbowl. Great unselfish play from a great leader

Being an Eagles fan I had assumed you watched our team beyond just last season. Siri made Gainwell the starter to begin 2023. Only benefitted because Gainwell got injured that first crappy game. Swift takes over and flourishes. I’ll be here to remind you of Eagles history whenever. Even if it isn’t so ancient only being just two seasons ago. I’m so aware because I dealt with two foolls believing Gainwell was deserving to start the whole time.

The RB 1 in 2023 was Deandre Swift … Philadelphia boy from St. Joes Prep come home. Once again you are using opinion rather than facts. The box scores from the first two games of 2023 are copied and pasted below. Read them and weep.
May 14, 20251 yr Ham, you clearly have a lot of very good football knowledge that can be a solid contribution to football discussion. But instead of discussing topics, you consistently want to talk smack. You have been watching too much Brandon Graham. If you eliminate the smack talk, like your Gainwell comment to me above and instead talk about how you think the evolution of the RB role in the roster has improved the team, you will be a much more constructive, much pleasanter, and more collaborative member of the EMB.Try it. You’ll like it.
May 14, 20251 yr Let’s see if we can discuss the following without the polarization and smack talk. From Kempski's pre-season All-NFCE offense...Quarterback: Jayden Daniels, CommandersThis will be an unpopular selection among some Eagles fans, given that Jalen Hurts was, you know, the Super Bowl MVP. But in my opinion — don't know if this is a "hot take" or not — Daniels dragging the Commanders' far inferior roster to the NFC Championship Game was more impressive than Hurts winning it all.Hurts played behind the best offensive line in the NFL, he threw to an elite WR duo, and he had the best player in the league standing next to him in the backfield at running back. And when things didn't click offensively, the Eagles had the best defense in the NFL to bail them out. Hurts absolutely played well, too, but it's undeniable that he had the best quarterback situation in the NFL, by far.The best argument for Hurts in my opinion is that he has shown up in big games. He's 6-3 in the playoffs, 2-0 in NFC Championship Games, and 1-1 in Super Bowls, with a strong argument that he was the best player on the field in the one he lost. He is very clearly a top 10 quarterback. But Daniels might be special. He had one good receiver, a mediocre O-line, he led his team inrushing, and his team had a below average defense. He was forced to put his team on his back week after week and make a bunch of plays to win games.A lot of my decisions in this exercise came down to,"Who would I rather have?" And in this case, it'sDaniels. 🤷♂️On a side note, Dak Prescott shouldn't get any real consideration here this year. The Cowboys were 3-5 in Prescott's starts. He threw 11 TDs vs. 8 INTs before being lost for the season with a hamstring injury. That said, I do think he's a candidate for a bounce-back season.
