Ongoing Eagles New Discussion volume 2

Let’s see if we can discuss the following without the polarization and smack talk.

From Kempski's pre-season All-NFCE offense...

Quarterback: Jayden Daniels, Commanders

This will be an unpopular selection among some Eagles fans, given that Jalen Hurts was, you know, the Super Bowl MVP. But in my opinion — don't know if this is a "hot take" or not — Daniels dragging the Commanders' far inferior roster to the NFC Championship Game was more impressive than Hurts winning it all.

Hurts played behind the best offensive line in the NFL, he threw to an elite WR duo, and he had the best player in the league standing next to him in the backfield at running back. And when things didn't click offensively, the Eagles had the best defense in the NFL to bail them out. Hurts absolutely played well, too, but it's undeniable that he had the best quarterback situation in the NFL, by far.

The best argument for Hurts in my opinion is that he has shown up in big games. He's 6-3 in the playoffs, 2-0 in NFC Championship Games, and 1-1 in Super Bowls, with a strong argument that he was the best player on the field in the one he lost. He is very clearly a top 10 quarterback.

But Daniels might be special. He had one good receiver, a mediocre O-line, he led his team inrushing, and his team had a below average defense. He was forced to put his team on his back week after week and make a bunch of plays to win games.

A lot of my decisions in this exercise came down to,"Who would I rather have?" And in this case, it'sDaniels. 🤷‍♂️

On a side note, Dak Prescott shouldn't get any real consideration here this year. The Cowboys were 3-5 in Prescott's starts. He threw 11 TDs vs. 8 INTs before being lost for the season with a hamstring injury. That said, I do think he's a candidate for a bounce-back season.

I was all about telling everybody I would have drafted Daniels getting towards the end of the college season. At that time he was being ranked as early second rounder. Rose all the way up to number two overall come draft day. Was very clearly trying to convince all "he’s a problem.” But you know I was met with Cowboys are the threat and Commanders are a couple of years away at best.

But…even though I’ve been very high on Jayden Daniels….let me tell you the huge concern the Commanders should have. He isn’t going to last. Too fragile

I said earlier the Wuss(Washington Wuss because they caved to the name change, but otherwise we avoid politics here) would be our main competition for the division. Daniels is indeed a hot QB who made a nice run with little to work with. Dullaz (Dallas) will still be mediocre as long as Jerruh is pulling the strings, so Kempski seems spot on here. The Gnats(giants) continue to stink, they are trying to become the new Cleveland as far as making moronic moves consistently. I miss Kempski's stick figures

Giants are sinking…how can they even? They grabbed such an elite WR last draft with Nabers. Then grabbed a stud pass rusher this draft. Very key building blocks. Can’t see how things got worse with them moving away from their crap QB finally. Brought in Russ, Jameis and drafted Dart. That’s an upgrade for sure.

Looks like I have to eat crow. My query to the internet for the Eagles 2023 schedule gave them to me in reverse order, and I missed that. So the first two games presented were not the first two but rather the last two. Ham, you have my apology. I’ll go back into the pregame and postgame commentary to give myself a better education. C

I couldn’t )can’t still) imagine going to all the effort to trade for Swift and then not start him.

All good lesson for you….probably need to double check before you hit submit if you are directly confronting what I told you. Happens to us all…maybe next time.

But you can simply still go look at the New England game...and tell me what do you see. Do you have an issue with the results Gainwell produced at the beginning of the game before he got banged up on his carry right before they scored a TD to go ahead 17-0. Look at the rest of the game.

The results when they went a different direction.

Ham was complaining right from the start. Even after those results.

The next few weeks when Gainwell was banged up ( he still played) Swift took more of the early down load. Which was always the idea...but for some reason Ham needed a proclamation written with a feather fountain ink pen... that Swift was the starter.

Otherwise....here is the link that Gainwell got special treatment from Siri....

Great read.

That link should lead you directly to my profile where I’ve pointed it out from the beggining. Very clearly Siri was against Sanders and chose Gainwell. So even starting rookie season he’s been blindly attempting to shove him in. It was as clear as it gets….Siri believed Gainwell emerged from PS as RB1. Worked out for Siri anyway because Gainwell got hurt. Swift got the call week two and….he was off!

I think Swift was a later arrival?(could be wrong) so maybe he needed a little more time to adapt to our lingo(aka play calls)

Gainwell took the first reps.... for some reason that was important to Ham. The fact that he did great the series where he got the ball.. before getting banged up and then sharing the ball...and Swift struggled that first game.. apparently got skipped over.

The idea was always to run Swift more, but not too much...Gainwell getting his 4 or 5 carries with a couple catches... and the third guy, I forget his name, but he always did well against the Giants ...was supposed to be a factor as well.

That 3rd guy sucked...and the RB we picked up from Seattle didn't contribute.

Plus I will say... Duce left... the RB rotation wasn't good. It seemed each guy was in there too long without rotation during drives to keep them fresh. Was really an awful job of using everyone committee style.

A bit of emergence from Boston Scott, the underdog who we kept on as a BU and sometimes "let's put him since everyone else sucks"

This was exactly the ridiculous false opinions I was contending against just a couple of off seasons ago

LMAO because neither of us ever said it, YOU said we said it and bought your own BS. You are excellent at selling stories to yourself that were made up in some bizarre dream, the pawing them off as being said by others. I, in fact explained my position to you about 100 times and NOTHING GOT THROUGH. You continue to believe your own lies. Nothing I can do about that

Sorry, but I will always defend myself against false accusations being spread about me on any topic, I wont tolerate it. I don't believe anyone would or should. I put up with that enough in life and now I will defend myself. I've had it with false accusations

So 3 guys turn them around in 1 year? I'm very doubtful. Nabers isn't elite until someone throws him the ball. Dart can do that but that's going to take time and ALOT more GOOD additions, yet these are the same morons who let Barkley walk LOL

What link??? All blank again LOL. Great NON read!!!! Maybe you should double check before you hit submit 🤣

You missed it again there MattyWill. Week one the season before last Swift I think only got one touch. It was Gainwell named starter…but he got injured. So turned out to be decent luck actually because then Swift started week two and wasn’t to relinquish that position again.

Read ahead Edgar Alan Poe.

OMG Siri was against that "special talent" ?? Now we know why you hate Siri. He went against your agenda LOLOLOLOL. BTW that "talent" was such a failure here in NC, he was finally relegated to RB3, and I think he went to the Gatorade squad, but Siri had to be wrong about him I guess.

Again though....while Swift was supposed to be the lead... it was never " starter" and " backup " in a classic sense that we saw this year. Because Swift isn't a bell cow and can't protect the QB.

And that's the debate of paying a RB. Ham just wants to spend money...he thinks that's always what cap space is for...just pay anything.

For me...I'm not paying a " starting " RB... I'm paying the RB that transcends the position as a weapon. There wasn't one available until Barkley.

Ham is obsessed with SF and the moves they made.. John Lynch would be his GM, but he is too afraid to answer the question directly and give a name when asked who would be better than Howie.

So CMC is his guy. We should have offered more for CMC....that's what he won't say how us normal humans communicate....

" the Eagles should have traded for CMC" 7 words for normal humans....Ham will make 25 posts indirectly saying that.

Then because a few of us said we wouldn't pay Sanders or Swift....that means we won't pay the entire RB position.

But it all leads to... " Howie isn't that good"

Or " I called it as the only one...etc."

That's how you got " Matt is suggesting that they triple team Dotson "

It should have always been very clearly starter and backup. In fact I’ve always maintained I actually did like Gainwell. Problem is:as a third string decent at everything kind of option. Which to those touting him as good enough to lead a committee approach …that came off as offensive to them. Problem really just stemmed from too much slurping up of everything Rosie always spewed. Now by not ball polishing every single thing agreeing always with Rosie…to those believing he can think and do no wrong…that makes me against our GM. This is a sad way of viewing most anything …ever …in any phase of life. Just not much at all is all rainbows and butterflies. On the contrary not much just totally terrible either. Good, bad…tons of patches of grey. Key is to change over to just become confident in arriving at your own conclusions regarding absolutely everything. Don’t be the dumbest of the dumb falling victim to believing you are done know-it-all. But areas you’ve researched and become knowledgable in regards to….with all the areas you’ve informed yourself concerning: you should form your own conclusions. Doesn’t ever mean you’ve learned absolutely everything to know about that subject. But no reason to ever become completely rigid and unwavering. Be openminded about all information you can receive from every source. Constantly consider the weight you place towards each source. Don’t just jump going along with anything and everything…from/or about anybody/anything. If you openminded consider everything you can fairly assess when quality points are brought to your attention. That maybe your opinion should be altered accordingly even.

You do all that and it just so simply makes you a wiser person.

Well to be fair Sirianni turned around a 4-11-1 Eagles team in one year. So it can be done.

Dude you are acting like you haven’t been around here for years. Still seems to me like we are still ongoing From 2021 where I declared my faith in Hurts to be our starting QB.

Yeah but he had higher quality players when he started, the gnats always find ways to mess things up,I lived in Ohio where the Browns were rebuilding for 40 years. Maybe someday the gnats will learn and let football guys make the decisions. That is the same BS I see in Charlotte

SOOOO what do the words "running back by COMMITTEE" tell you. Anything registering? Do you understand what a committee is?

It’s evolved after 6,000 posts concerning it. But still feels like the same debate still hot as ever in the fires around here. Very little ground has still been given up by those pining so hard for Wentz. Sure…Wentz completely proven to just have been such a clear wrong horse to back. So eveybody that was against me then? No longer even attempts to still chase those terribly near(except my lone voice)unanimous viewpoint of Wentz over Hurts. But still doesn’t feel like a single fan here as converted over to believing in Hurts. Still #Hurtshating potshots reign supreme

Who else did we have? It was a bit "make or break" when we booted Wentz. I'm happy Hurts made the progress me and Joe clamored for since 2021 since you had set the bar so low you couldn't limbo under it. Me and Joe set higher standards, the same standards we would have for any other QB which you failed to grasp all these years. After the 2024 bye week, Hurts was spectacular, everything Joe and I bished about became reality. He did make that 1 bad error in 2023, but he learned from that and we lost that SB as a TEAM, and now we are the champs. I also applaud Howie for a series of great drafts and our staff for their development and implementation to fit Hurts' style. I'm asking for back to back Lombardi's and we CAN do this. Although I won't predict the 12 wins I did last year I see no reason we can't win 10-11. I think I will go with 11,but want to review the schedule a bit longer. We have the talent, the coaches, the players, the best GM in the league and the SB indeed goes through PHILLY!!! Fly Eagles FLY!
