April 16, 20241 yr Ceedee Lamb has been stating he needs to be the top paid WR. DeVonta accepted 25 mil per. Those situations are not equal.

If all you wish for is the team to sell tickets and go for reaching the 22nd pick? Then I’m sure you are very happy. Just not how I look at things. Dallas according to you has a higher standard. Constant complaints isn't raising a standard. A little self awareness about your QB and your GM might help. Comments like May 2nd deadline show ignorance. Especially when you can't follow up with the specific explanation as to how the contract works and why the team had to have it done by May 2nd?

April 16, 20241 yr I don’t even see the DeVonta signing as some kind of GM brilliance. Seemed like a fairly standard obvious move to be made. Recognizing a good young player. Then paid him big time money. Paying a player 25 mil a season isn’t executing supreme brilliance grabbing some steal of a signing. Good signing. Paying a player his worth. How I see it.

Never. Ok…carry on with your argument you obviously are trying to have with somebody else…that doesn’t exist. Haven’t read anybody in this place stating Cowboys have the highest standard…are brilliant with contracts…any of this.

Why couldn't Lamb be highest paid WR last year? By the time all these other guys get paid, he would be a bargain... if they signed him last year. Did Lamb ( prior to 2023) show that he was the top WR? No... but now after 2023...Dallas is screwed. You " overpay" after year 3....the cash part...the only part that the player cares about...it allows you to manipulate the money and cap hits year 4. With more leverage. The $25 mil per is a BS #. So is the " guaranteed " what matters is the signing bonus with the sales pitch of getting the bag early and then getting bag #2 early again. Pay the player early. Better business.
April 16, 20241 yr But I can’t sit and here and lick Rosie’s scrotum over everything he does is so brilliant and everything Jones does is moronic…when every season it comes down to a one game difference between the two of us.

Paying a player his worth. How I see it. Right...it's not any GM brilliance. The other guys NOT signing is GM stupidity. Sometimes...especially in business...avoiding the stupidity ends up being more important than the occasional brilliant move.

April 16, 20241 yr At some point when the draft shifts a little in favor of the Eagles... it's not going to be pretty.

April 16, 20241 yr For most of us... who see Hurts for what he is.... we still feel better about the Eagles future than the unknown of Dallas at their QB...either overpaying Dak or starting over. I can't imagine a dude who licks his Hurts poster before going to bed every night can't think the Eagles are in way better shape? Idk maybe they think McCarthy is such a great coach?

That's what makes it so exciting to me; full of suspense. I believe this offseason's moves are showing where the owner and GM stand on their QB. They paid for a RB thinking they can't rely on a passing offense with their QB. They are getting weapons to make up for his limited ability in reading a defense and making NFL level throws. If we draft OL first and another weapon on day 2, that really cements it for me. If they believed in their QB...they would take the approach to build the D being their QB had it under control on his side. Instead, need pro bowl level at each position on offense it seems. Very telling this offseadon. After the Wentz fiasco, they can't have this QB fall on his face too.

Things do change if we have to exercise that fifth year option officially. You don't think the players tell their agents if they like the terms or not?
April 16, 20241 yr Author 13 hours ago, cunninghamtheman said: Record setting receiving numbers happened without a passing QB? How would that be remotely possible? This record is clear evidence of how far off you are of slandering our QB. Hurts got AJ to the greatest level ever achieved by a WR to a new team in that short period. Such a receiving record couldn’t be accomplished without quality passes coming his way. This on top of Hurts spreading the ball around, not like AJ was the only target. LMFAO because Hurts passes a LITTLE more than that guy from Tennessee who relied on Henry for 75% of his offense
April 16, 20241 yr Author 12 hours ago, cunninghamtheman said: Two WR in the top 5 of receptions over expectations. Not bad from a QB that can’t throw. Must have been somebody else back there getting them both the ball. All these passes completed over expectations and records being broken in the passing game. Clearly signs of a team with a QB struggling heavily to throw the ball. "receptions" and YAC's. It wasn't Hurts throwing 65 yard passes lol
