Didn't see any of that, we didn't go in the city itself, I had no interest anyway. A few beaches, Hollywood and a Dodgers game, was a great time. I already miss the weather...lol

Id love to have Asante Jr in Philly…. Doesn’t really see a down side signing him he will likely come cheap on a 1 year deal. If he doesn’t work oh well if he is healthy and good to go great depth piece could even push to start

So converted Ben Van Sumeren to FB this year do we think he makes the team? Do we see the team using more under center running with a lead blocker?

I don't think Van Sumeran was ever supposed to be a TE. LB... that they wanted to use as a FB.

Goedert is the TE... he would still play TE when Van Sumeran lines up at FB. The guy was a good blocker as a FB. Not really difficult.... it seems you are getting in Ham mode trying to make a simple thing complicated.

If you have an excellent ST player. .but he isn't going to give you many snaps as a LB... and has the blocking skills...why not dress him and allow him to play a few snaps at FB in addition to the ST snaps. No plan B... just an excellent plan A.

So what did he play for all 22 snaps last year? 22 snaps all year doesn't seem like a huge contribution

If Goedert WENT DOWN we could use him to BLOCK for Calc. Nothing complicated about that C'mon now

When I brought up Van Sumeren switching positions wasn’t trying to start some massive debate about the position.

Clearly we asked him to change positions and would think he only changes if he thinks he has a strong chance at making the team… if not why would he ever change from LB.

Last year Sumeren had like 20 snaps at FB as a lead blocker didn’t result in any stats to be recorded don’t get a stat for blocking. He got hurt around the mid season point when it looked like we were starting to increase his usage.

I know there was some rule about Sumeren Jersey # as well that made using him More at FB complicated why he changed #s for this season

This is the key. If looking at a core ST player? That’s how you can roster the FB. Possibly…no guarantees.
