You just posted a bunch of posts, but only one of them addresses Defensive scheme. You harp and harp and harp about Offensive scheme, but for defense all you have are some player profiles. Is that because you don’t understand Defense (and/or Special Teams) but obsess about Offense. That isn’t a very balanced approach.

You can do better.

How do you want to see those Defensive players used. Do you prefer Man or Zone? With those LBs would you be dialing up blitzes? What are your thoughts about Nolan Smith’s wide nine sets?

So much Defense to talk about, and so much time.

Just goes towards my respect of Fangio. More just excited to see what he implements. Think he’s going to get five and six DBs on the field a good amount of the time this season.

Nolan needs to just get healthy and right. While Jalyx just needs to be unleashed this season!

My guess would be our enemies are really diving deep into figuring out Zach Baun. A key figure in our D. He also kind of is very key in deciphering Fangio’s D. He’ll be very specifically game planned now. Year two with a whole summer of film to review surround Vic and his guys.

Here is a pretty good one..The Switch. Simple…but really hard to defend when mastered. Both sides you have Rubs or Picks being run. Going deep…unless coverage is super soft…then adapt to a Comeback.

I want him to dig in deep detailed specific and get every ounce of juice out of these YAC Creation plays.(like he did Brotherly Shove) my thinking is..HC is good at what he’s good at…taking a fairly basic play…and specifically detailing it to become high efficiency…think this could be his next step of evolution.

This we could get multiple different play combinations out of…unlike The Brotherly Shove. All the ways these players need to perfect getting their block in. Many of times involving this Inside Out blocking setup. Or heck…maybe he figures out a way to change that formula. Siri could be just the guy to hardcore break this down.

I wholeheartedly agree with five DBs, and the Super Bowl snaps counts below do show that there was at least one snap with six in that game. However, six (which may have been the Maddox 4th Down PBU snap) probably won’t happen more than once or twice in a game, if at all. The reason for my belief that will be the case comes from Fangio’s own words, where he went out of his way to say how important ILBs are in his scheme. In his two-high Safeties zone deployment, the two ILBs have two key assignments. First, they clog up the quick release crossing patterns over the middle.

Neither Gannon nor Desai understood the value of ILBs in accomplishing that, and as a result Eagles defenses were consistently vulnerable to short passes that moved the chains, extended drives, and controlled TOP.

Second, they act as DBs in covering both TEs and RBs in pass patterns. They are better matchups size wise for TEs than both CBs and Safeties are. For RBs coming out of the backfield their zone assignment close to the LOS matches up much better with the RB than one of the Safeties, who at the snap is well off the LOS in the two-high positioning.

Fangio can go with six DBs and two ILBs if he lightens the box even more … down to three from four.

IDK why do you need "differing D". If it's shutting down your opponent why change it? Fangios D offered no seams in the SB. There was no place for Mahomes to go. I see no need to change what works
