Pretty rare to hear about interviewing guys for a job that has t been vacated yet. Usually you fire the guy…THEN interview for the opening.

April 19, 20242 yr Author Chargers working out DJ Chark. he is a solid receiver. Not great, but not terrible

Separate the two subjects. Do you sign a vet RB to a top dollar contract if you don’t view yourself as a contender? My answer is no…in the first place. Signing Saquan to me was an All In move.

It’s been known he wasn’t asking for personnel control with the Falcons. Also known he was willing to step back control with the Pats.

Is the goal to try and achieve 9 wins and just be competitive? Or are we trying to win Championships? If you aren’t contending …then signing Saquan just lowers our draft pick while eating up cap.

So it was wise to not sign Pollard long term at top dollar…like they were considering. Was absolutely stupid move.

Howie is giving Hurts the best weapons he can find for success over the next 3 years(when Hurts contact comes up). Signing Bark for 3 years provides continuity at the position. We extended Smith for the same reason. Howie needs an excuse to letm Hurts go if he needs to and he is providing the best weapons for him. if he fails,we know where the problem lies. Hurts neds to stop the excuses and get it done. There is zero reason for him to fail. if the defense gives up too much and we lose,so be it if Hurts balls out. Hurts was a Howie pick and he doesn't want to look bad,but he will find another QB if Hurts cannot produce the desired result in the next 3 years

Or are we trying to win Championships? If you aren’t contending …then signing Saquan just lowers our draft pick while eating up cap. Here is your issue. 1. We made two great trades. Steals with Miami and Saints... you = it was all for a QB 2. We extend Smith ( obvious move) you = let's trade AJ 3. We signed Barkley to 3 year deal ( half the cap hit of Pollard) you = We are all in let's mortgage the future Why can't obvious good moves, simply be obvious good moves? The trade extended Smith and signing Barkley are all good moves... all more than just one year. Like every little thing has to be exaggerated into something extreme ALL THE TIME!!!
