I have no clue why the Bears would give up the 9 pick when they are rebuilding and need foundational players everywhere. The 9 pick will be a key cog in their rebuild. You may or may not get that at 22

What you and I believe isn’t really very relevant. Multiple sources sight their 9 pick is on the block. Take it or leave it. That’s the perception.

They could trade the 9 back a little,I just don't see them dropping to 22. Brock Bowers could be there at 9. If so, the phone will be ringing off the hook with trade offers

I’m calling top 5 Big Board selection will be there at 9. So yeah…phone should be ringing off the hook.

But also could easily see the pick being traded before the draft even begins.

The Bears should do that trade in a heartbeat.

Never said need. I did admit to I’d pull the trigger in that rumored trade proposal with the ninth pick that’s supposedly on the trade block. I’ve been on record as believing pretty strong in this draft class. Should be a quality player(based historically at the 22spot No Mas) if we stay at our spot.

I don't think we stay at 22.

I absolutely think they are looking to trade #9.   Especially if they get that bleacher report offer.

Agree...just not from us.

The desperate team trades up without knowing the player.

Matches up on the trade value charts as a fair value trade

Wouldn’t be bad for them. To nitpick: are you so sure a Cal kid that played at Georgia can thrive in cold windy Chicago? I listed Bowers as my top tier elite prospect. But cold weather and wind is a factor. Several players don’t adapt well. Just look at Tua. I don’t think Tua has won a game with the weather under 50 degrees. Tua is a good QB. Lit it up last year. But…don’t see him translating as well here of in Chi- Town…or anywhere cold. Fell off to end the season for sure. Just not a cold weather QB. Will the cold wind hurt Bowers game? Not sure we have enough of any proof to show it wouldn’t.
Probably stretching things here a bit I admit. But is something to consider and question. More than just athletic traits come into play. Many here seem to not understand these other factors.

Good question. I suppose all warm weather players need to adapt. Like sea level guys adjusting to Mile high

That's great... doesn't match up with the Eagles

Just saying at 9 they should get better offers from other teams than the BR(theoretical) one from us,they can hold that pick hostage a long time

Desperate doesn’t apply to grabbing a top five talent on anybodies draft board. BPA should trump positional or player specifics being a top 5 overall player for any team. But specifics do come into play if a QB is being traded up for at 9. Think they could get even more than the suggested trade if a QB still is on the board at 9. Then all you list of specifics and position are huge factors. Bears will cash in big time.

Several never do adapt well. It’s a factor. Plenty of stud athletes play well regardless also though.

I'm sure playing in Georgia he had to play cold weather games away in that league

Would Payton Manning have even been Payton Manning not playing so many games inside? How many struggles did he have in the cold NE?

Not so much actually

I think they probably get a better offer as well

Shady had a good conversation talking about Kelce. Said he questioned his new C. "Coach what are we doing? This guys do small. You think he can block and holdup?” Coach told him he’s young give him time. As TC continued on Shady came around telling coach how he’s a beast.

Grabbing a stud CB like Mitchell to Match Up with Lamb would work very nicely.

How great would we fare if we had a CB that could limit Lamb and these other larger WR we face in the NFC? Be game changing.

Chris Simms labeling DeJean as a S. His top S in this class.

Says he wouldn’t be shocked if drafted in the first round

Talks about how he doesn’t have the fluid hips and such to play CB.

I was thinking DeJean could fit under Fangio being an off outside CB. Simms disagrees and balks at him even working in a Seattle style CB D.
