This is a matchup go to advantage all day long for the Lions. Almost could call any RB a matchup advantage the more he’s in space alone matching up against any LB. Gibbs multiplies this by ten. As much as I know about our team…it’s really bad matchup problem. Baun we paid as a top elite LB…terrible matchup for him alone in coverage against Gibbs. Dean? Ouch. Maybe our rookie is our best answer actually. Go full circle from just before the bye talking all about getting our first round pick more time at Edge(credit specific to BG thinking here). But now this flips right against what our team needs are so quickly. Been better if instead of the one step short term thinking band aid…if we had been developing him as our coverage guy. Even that is shorter term thinking approach in a way. That’s this year’s squad need. Rusher clearly was…don’t get me wrong. But be because it hadn’t been addressed by the GM effectively yet. Bringing BG back after our GM forced his retirement was a must. But more was needed. Had to make a huge blockbuster move to fix this flaw in Rosie 2025 repeat roster.

You treat all equally badly. No manners and no shame.Doesn't make sense with this guy, he is the only one I've seen on this board in a couple decades that does this? Instantly combative with everything. To me it almost seems fake? Like " you are on candid camera" type thing?

And not just one of the things or an additional thing? Why is it the most? Just a question why for you it is #1 priority? Are we toast on 3 passes to Gibbs like we would be on 35 runs?I’m laying it all out there on a platter for you explaining. It effects Fangio whole gameplan and playcalling. Much more that just being simple minded basing things only on exact production running this play. Fangio has to hesitate calling blitzes just because of this counter would crush that D. On and on..

I’m trying to get you to thinking about those next levels of benefits this play effects. Telling you it starts right from Fangio gameplanning for this week. He has to account for this play. Can’t sell out blitzing….unless maybe Fangio has a defender making sure to attack Gibbs not even letting him get out quickly freely in coverage.6 hours ago, cunninghamtheman said:Number one concern against the Lions Jamyrr Gibbs matched up with our LBs.WHY NUMBER 1?

November 13, 2025Nov 13 The Gibbs quick passing matchup advantage creates conflict with our D. Everything Fangio does. But our defenders can’t just go for it.

I would prefer that type of play call, then Gibbs catches the ball in the flat, no screen set up. Perfect. Better than play action or longer time to clear out the zone and or give time for an LB to blitz or run out of position. Hike and a quick pass to one side without any deception. I'll take that all day.

But due to losing multiple RBs. Next year would be the exact year you would think he avoids actually drafting an RB being that we have a quality 3 already. I could see UDFA though as usual.
