The completion percentage component of passer rating is higher with the sack (or scramble for positive yards) than it is with the attempted pass/throw away.

Correct.... and Hurts absolutely takes sacks instead pf throwing ot away ... that plus the shovel pass ( which is really a long forward handoff) ... all adds up to helping his passer rating. It's a little inflated

Just to discuss, not to immediately dismiss this idea. But a thing to consider is the chemistry and the current mix. Do we want to introduce a new element that also takes away snaps from #s 50, 55, 58 and 3???

I think it's imperative to constantly keep looking at players to possibly come in for a visit ... but also be smart with not making too many moves

Right now they are all playing..so again, good to keep looking at players ... but need to be cautious of who loses snaps or changes in chemistry.

I like the way our edge group is playing. Young and only should get better. BG is excellent in his role too.

My point is the play calls and the style of play by Hurts himself is one that inflated the passer rating. Which is fine.

It's proven, when he doesn't throw much he and the team excel. Just that it wouldn't hurt to sacrifice the passer rating and throw the ball away more instead of taking some sacks
