But even the reports of players we are interested in isn’t that deep especially considering how close to FA we are. Resigning our own guys, Njoku and Crosby/Hendricks are about the only names I’ve heard us having any interest in to date by reporters.

March 4Mar 4 Convert from QB to TE…acknowledged how much work and progress he needed in the run blocking game. But says his most underrated aspect is his blocking. Sees himself as achieving becoming a quality blocker here at this point…with room to grow.

Can't rule him out(or anyone else at this point) round 1 would be a serious reach, 54 is pretty late in 2. I'm sure he is on other teams boards also. Just because we like him, getting him is another story. This however would open the door to a high round 2 pick(which is basically what is being offered) for AJ,so using that pick is quite possible
March 4Mar 4 Author So basically this would be like trading AJ for Stowers which is fine if the AJ trading team eats AJ's salary. Nice enough TE. Not much else out there. Needs to add bulk for sure, so that vert may disappear with added weight. We would need that extra 2 pick IMO

Allows Howie much more freedom to move around. Saw a mock where your boy Stowers went at 30. Not bashing on him, obviously an excellent TE. Only issue I have is we usually don't get outstanding numbers from our TE. But with an all new offensive staff, that could turn on a dime. IMO Stowers would need to bulk up which would drop that insane vert, but make him a better blocker. Usually, in the past, we have TE drafted players sitting behind someone else to learn how this team uses them. IDK that I would waste a round 1 if we do that again. Otherwise he would need to be the immediate starter and that's a tough ask for a TE if we still think we're in some kind of SB window.. On the flip side, if we're going to retool alot of this team we're going to need some rookies to start. Like alot of skill position players you need to be really careful because the NFL is not college. If we have a new WR and new TE out there, there is your built in Ham excuse for Hurts not doing well, and we could consider this a year to stop back before making another run at it. Tons of really ie players in this draft once again. I'm just one of those that thinks finding Lanes replacement is the most paramount. Adding another 1 pick would mean OT and Stowers could happen. have to see how the draft plays out. If Stowers fell into 2 I'm grabbing him. Fangios last year too, so securing CB2 is big on the list I would think. Igbinosun would be a nice pick in round 3
