We have many good players. So the question who is on the 53? Weru, Uar, Carson Steele I believe you can have 1 international that doesn't count towards to roster. I think that is Uar. Weru needs on the 53. Loving Steele because I love a good basher that levels guys. Do we risk putting him on the PS. I certainly would understand if they did based on the small amount of views, but he sure made the most of his opportunity. Some tough questions for this staff coming soon

In the same place another article had JT Gray making the 53. That is not happening now. I think that makes room for Steele. That article also had Latu on the 53. If Steele is to be a FB, there is little reason to keep Latu although he is our BU blocking TE. Stowers needs to pick up his pace, he's not learning very fast and if Goedert went down we would really feel if it Stowers can't cut it yet. Still 1 pre to go, could decide the fate of these guys

The international roster position is on the Practice Squad (a 17th slot), not the 53-man. Further, a player filling that slot has to be cut, and then pass through waivers, before he can be placed in that slot. Once on the Practice Squad he can be poached by another team.

Purely based on upside and versatility, I don’t see how Steele makes this roster. His upside is much less than at least four young D-Linemen, and his versatility is much less than Latu. He is Practice Squad material … good material, but Practice Squad nonetheless.

Looking like Andy Dalton is cooked can’t image he makes the final 53.

Steele seems to be making a case for himself wonder if he ends up sneaking a roster spot probably more likely a PS guy that we call up if/when needed

Curious take you think Stowers could get hit with a "injury” and placed on IR basically given a RS year in the NFL…. Feel like it is a known thing teams fake injuries at this point.

Right, we have to choose between Weru and Uar. One needs to be on the 53

IDK about who is better Latu or Steele. They have different usages. Neither will play barring injury except Steele gives you a FB option at the GL, Latu doesn't although Latu is probably the netter blocker. If Steele puts another nice game together Latu is headed for the exit IMO. One or the other will be on the PS. Stowers underperforming is the problem as I see it. That underperformance prevents Latu from being on the PS. They need to know Stowers will show up at some point and/or,they are confident Goedert will hold up until that time. Steele is a RB that is "expendable". Could be great in the return game,so the staff has alot of decisions ahead

Yeah, alot of teams that like a FB could eyeball him on the PS. He would be a good RB for a GL needy rushing FB. Let's see if he follows up the great game he had vs the Pats

Steele could get a mystery injury too LOL, maybe UAR does also

Doesn’t UAR count as an exception because of the international rules???? Idk how that works anymore but thought we could keep him and it doesn’t effect the PS or 53 man roster

Latu plays ST and was one of the better STers for us so he will played even if it is not a huge role on offense…. I’m it sure how Steele is on STs but he made a great case for himself against the Pats as depth.

Latu also was a really good blocker for us last season I really think he will make the team

I also think we go fairly light at WR going with 5 guys… Smith/Wicks/Lemon/Cooper/Moore

feel like Hollywood will get dealt to another team at least that is my prediction. Could be Moore that is traded as well but he seems to have a really good chemistry with Hurts and I don’t think we will get rid of that.

I image Campbell going to be the starter but Trot is making a case it’s a good problem to have with Campbell health and Baun isn’t exactly young either…. The real concern comes can/should we keep Trot long enough to be a future starter for us

Steele was a big time ST player for the Chiefs last season

Both need to be.

With Lemon having come back, it would not surprise me to see Stowers start the year on IR thanks to his hamstring injury. That would give Howie another 53-man slot. I also expect the Long Snapper to be a roster cut with the Practice Squad as a destination. That would also be a slot maximization move.

I believe Fred Johnson is a poor attributes match to Mannion’s scheme, but a good match to other NFL schemes and Howie will look to trade him and pick up a cut casualty OT who matches the needs of the Mannion scheme better. But he won’t be in any rush to do so. So my roster is

QB - 3 - 3

RB - 3 - 6

WR - 6 - 12 with Moore in and Covey to the PS

TE - 3 - 15 with Mundt and Latu behind Goedert

OL - 11 - 26 with 5 starters plus Bell, Kendall, Lampkin, Morris, Majors, and Fred or his replacement.

Edge - 6 - 32 includes 5 plus Weru

DT - 6 - 38 includes 5 plus Bernard

LB - 4 - 42 Chance Campbell was my Final Cut

Kicker - 1 - 43

Punter - 1 - 44

DBs - 9 - 53

The rule changed last year. As it now stands the international roster position is on the Practice Squad (a 17th slot), not the 53-man. Further, a player filling that slot has to be cut, and then pass through waivers, before he can be placed in that slot. Once on the Practice Squad he still can be poached by another team.

A LS has to be on the 53. What team goes without a LS? It's like P and K. You're going to have to cut someone else
