That's a separate issue, Covey is still on the practice squad, he was a call up.... it's one of three for the season. It wasn't a move made available by Stowers going on IR.

Although.... it does seem like Covey would be in line to be added to the roster once a player gets cut or put on IR. ... After he uses all three of his call ups from the PS first.

I know it's game 1, but Hurts appears he is not going to run again on broken plays. He just runs for the sideline hoping to find an out. This is going to be a problem again. Sad to see

If the ground game struggles the O struggles it seems…. Hurts just does not seem like the guy who can win with his arm without the superior supporting cast. Which is way it is so hard to pay him going forward

He's not running when he can, just like last year. He's not giving his all at least not so far. Just running to the sideline on broken plays,no heading upfield

That the issue right again if he had the arm to win with not as huge an issue but he meh as a passer who made up for those short comings with his legs.

If he is not going to be the threat of a runner( also how much longer can he be a threat closing in on 30) how can we justify paying him an extension

I don't see it. Defenses know he's not going to take off, that was our secret weapon, now they can just play regular sets without fear of Hurts legs. very disappointing

Hurts is a good deep ball guy and extending plays add on his legs(if he uses them) you can win but if we are not using his legs and want him to win with timing and rhythm passing I’m not sure that is his game

Same issue last season but that’s why you pay the 50+ mil QB to overcome those problems…. Josh Allen, Drake Maye, Stroud, Stafford whoever you name likely has equal if not significantly worse OLs
