It's odd if the reality is he was really looking forward to playing with our QB?  It's not like he has experienced great team success either.   Getting released , having that possibility, shouldn't be enough to forfeit the money.

No change in cap...he was signed at vet minimum with  no bonus.

Yeah strange to sign(maybe) your last deal then do a 180. Maybe he felt with all the guys in the room that he wouldn't play enough to warrant all the travel and time away from family and I'm sure he has enough money by now

Me too,got 2 vets locked in early for nothing. Even if they left, no real loss. We could add another here depending how camp goes. Paris should start with ASmith making a move and taking over as the season goes along

He gave the " wanting to spend time with his family " reason.  I could see it.  Dude has 4 kids and has made life 50 million or so...not sure worth the time to put in for an extra million if you don't love the game or the environment...etc.  especially if family is out of town

Yeah,alot of time away for little to no "glory" I don't blame him. I'm sure he saw we were loaded in the room. Wish him well

Cant make a huge deal about all the minor signing we make in the offseason lol

I don't even think the other WRs matter really.   That's what we look at... idk if it matters to him...the pay and the time away wouldn't change.

It’s not good a player you gravitated towards quit at the first sight of OTAs.

Like most athletes they want to play. His usage would be minimal the farther we got into the season. Paris would probably start(He's on the roster) with ASmith learning the ropes, so for all that away time,with minimal playing time,it wasn't worth it. he my "un retire" if he finds a team that will play him. Maybe be goes back to the Pats. Carolina could use him also as an outlet for Young in year 2
