July 17, 20241 yr So with Reddick... 2 years $32 million contract....written with the option for being a 3 year $45 mil deal. The contract...written like most NFL contracts.... used the signing bonus to put money in Reddick's pocket ... the cap hits were low the first 2 years... designed to roll the space forward... the 3rd year cap hit was pretty much fixed to make it $32 mil hitting in year 3. The leftover $13 mil hit in year 4, if he played here in year 3. So the UNEDUCATED person who doesn't understand business...thinks that the Eagles are paying Reddick now to play for the Jets. But the reality is that the contract was set up to where the first 2 years of his play was set up to hit the cap over 3 years. The 3rd year of play was set up to hit the cap year 4. The Eagles decided to skip the 3rd year of play....and not only save the cap hit ( the savings comes the following year) ..but also get a day 2 pick They chose to make it 2026, with the idea the Jets are making a one year play with Rodgers. Which, by the fact that they haven't committed to pay Reddick after this year, looks to be the case.

But No Mas....the Eagles are taking a $21 mil cap hit now and Reddick isn't even playing... they didn't write the contract correctly, as they should have paid him the $32 million the first 2 years to avoid this cap hit....and have more cap space. Well little Johnny... you see that's not how the math works. If the Eagles took the $32 million cap hit prior to this year....then they wouldn't have had the unused cap space roll forward. So it's a wash.. but it was a way to get Reddick paid and give the team the flexibility to do other things and then decide what to do with him going into year 3. They decided to move on from him to a younger player in Huff, that would also allow Smith to develop ...all while getting a day 2 draft pick. One guy always says that the meat of the draft is day 2.
July 17, 20241 yr Let's say one decides to purchase the classic book...." Wedding planning for dummies".... the cost of $12. You have the option of paying all $12 up front...or paying $1 / month for a year. Either way it costs you $12...because as you pay the $1 in future months, the idea is you had the entire $12 at the start and so the money is there to pay as you go. The same way the NFL contracts work in the way they impact the salary cap.

July 17, 20241 yr Purdy a top 10 QB? Going to get PAID next year. wish Dullas would sign Dax for the next 20 years with the highest yearly salary EVERY year. Worried about the defensive line and the Oline without Kelce. They can’t replace a Hall of famer without significant impact. And Cox was still a stud. The Georgia boys need to step it up BIG TIME. And the DEs left are…..average. Excited to see what Moore does for the offense….and with Barkley….LETS GO!!!!!!!!!
July 17, 20241 yr Niners rookie WR placed on no football injury list. Pretty big deal especially considering the Aiyuck situation.

On those same plays, there can be missed blocks and receivers who don't get open. Still doesn't excuse a QB from making things worse. Part of being an a QB is to avoid making a play worse. So who do you blame again on a missed block? Still the QB….alright let’s start over here with the lesson…

I mean the 49ers cleared cap back in 2017, I thought that meant everything? Maybe they need some " indebtedness? They’ve been to two SBs and four out of five NFC Championship games….they’ve been handling things pretty well. They seem to understand the concept of being ‘all in.’ ‘All in’ means they aren’t trying to trade Aiyuck even though paying him might not be on the plans.

So much so the best option was to suck up 21.5 mil on the cap and ship him off to play for the Jets. Brilliant!

July 17, 20241 yr Siri has tons of time to play Rock, Paper, Scissors with any extra people around practice also not involved practicing

July 17, 20241 yr but it was subsequently reported during the spring that Belichick was "believed to be biding his time until next January for openings on teams he has told confidants he would be interested in coaching."Those clubs are the New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys.

July 17, 20241 yr "One of the more overrated players in the NFL," a veteran NFL executive said of Allen, per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. "Immense talent, but he makes a lot of mistakes. He's underdeveloped at winning at the line of scrimmage, tends to lock on to targets, more of a thrower than precision passer, forces throws into traffic." This is how they are describing your preferred boy in Josh Allen

Would you trade the last 7 years of the 49ers for the last 7 years of the Eagles? Very simple yes or no.

July 17, 20241 yr Just now, cunninghamtheman said: Would you hang on to Aiyuck going ‘all in’ or give away Reddick and lie about being ‘all in?’ I have Brown and Smith.... paid them early as Aiyuk should have been paid BEFORE he played the 2023 season. Reddick had a fluke 2022 season where he was am impact player.... then another Jason Babin stat line chasing sacks in 2023...impacted only 1 turnover. I prefer to get Huff and the pick and allow the other guys some snaps. It seemed the lack of versatility was a reason Fangio didn't want Reddick.
