They can use the fifth year option…you call a dumb move. They can use the tag…you call a dumb option. They can extend their ‘all in’ for two more seasons as far as Aiyuck is concerned.

Fangio is coach...it's the year in which the Eagles set up the option on Reddick’s contract. Regardless of who the DC was last year, Reddick was going to stay the 2 years here. Oh I'm sorry.... you missed my posts explaining the contract because 10 pages ago I blamed Hurts for something.

Just curious.... aren't we still in " before this season" time frame? So ONLY Howie decided to " boot" Reddick. And this idea can't possibly be because you wanted Reddick to stay and don't like Howie.... so it's 100% ONLY Howie. Fangio liking his edge guys to drop into coverage and nothing else had impact on Reddick being traded....simply the GM ?
July 17, 20241 yr 28 minutes ago, cunninghamtheman said: No…I admit Hurts fault in the situation. The huge difference is I have to explain the mistakes others made that lead to stated plays in the first place so many times. Instead of you just jumping to blame Hurts for everything with zero accountability for any other person that’s a part of this organization. What did Hurts specifically do wrong? You have never said anything?
July 17, 20241 yr Author 14 hours ago, cunninghamtheman said: Exactly…point blame where it belongs. Actually pay attention and be more appropriate where you place the blame. What's BS is "Hurts is the only QB we can win with". Total BS. And why is that? One of,if not THE best supporting cast in the league on offense. Any QB with any above average skills can run this team just fine

He's underdeveloped at winning at the line of scrimmage, tends to lock on to targets, more of a thrower than precision passer, forces throws into traffic." Jalen Hurts, without the tush push eh? Difference,Hurts is semi proficient at short pass accuracy, when he goes deep he gets picked because they are underthrown "dying ducks" because he doesn't have the arm. Hurts "wins at the LOS" because of the best O line in the league,so this "unnamed source" is clueless and probably is the Gnats OC. Allen has an issue with throwing short too HARD and needs to dial that back. All QB's have things they need to work on

It's a big salary guaranteed... all counting vs the cap. 5th year options aren't great either. Same principle. It you have an elite player....sign them early and get them cheap. Pay the player so he's happy, and keep the team in control.

And in 2023, where would Hurts rank in these " big plays " ? Overall...where would Hurts rank in 2021, 2022 and 2023 in this? See how 2022 NFL " sheople" can view as the outlier...not the norm. And same for Reddick.

July 17, 20241 yr 46 minutes ago, GreenbleedinNC said: So you are really into franchise tags? That cost you more money? So let's take a quick minute ...WITH AN OPEN MIND AND ZERO AGENDA... just look at numbers as a comparison.... and you can tell me what works better for " extending your All-in window" 1. Eagles / Smith contract. A player drafted in 2021... Method = extension prior to year 4 Cap hits from year 4 through 7 are a total of $40 million Or SF / Aiyuk contract... Player drafted 2020 ... Method = the 5th year/ possible tag Cap hits year 4 and 5 = $18 mil Franchise tag # for 2024 = $19 mil. ( number going WAY WAY up next year) So let's compare.... my next post...
July 17, 20241 yr Eagles/ Smith.... you use $40 mil of cap space through years 4 -7....a 4 year window SF Aiyuk method.... 5th year plus tag...going to use $40 mil ...probably more, for only 3 years. On top of that... Smith was drafted a year later... so his numbers started higher from the beginning. SF method costs more for a player that should have costed less because he entered the league a year sooner.
July 17, 20241 yr To keep it simple.... 2 great ways to CLOSE your " All in window" faster... 1. 5th year option 2. Franchise tag To keep the window open longer.. get extension done prior to year 4. The numbers have zero agenda... they tell the story in an unbiased fashion. That's salary cap management. Player selection.. and who the teams draft or choose to sign or keep... that's different than how they write contracts and when they choose to extend.
