He’s familiar with our LB coach. He was chosen and drafted by the Niners. Gotta admit whatever your feelings personally towards them….they know how to draft those players.

But flourished once leaving Santa Clara…got his own team and was given the opportunity to thrive. Which he did. He always seems to have commanded a certain level of respect even. He signed fairly cheap…but wasn’t some leftover forgotten option. He was coveted.

I assume Azeez won’t come cheap. Think he’s generally respected league wide as a quality player. Not super elite and comparing to Roquan or anything. But a quality player that just keeps improving. He’s a guy that’s raised his FA contract stock very consistently,  He’s not been given much if anything in the league. Taken advantage of every opportunity though. Steps up each new challenge and added expectations placed on him.

He signed a one year 5 mil contract last season. Which I’d call a ‘Prove It’ contract signed by a player. I’d overwhelmingly state that paid off for him. 

We won’t get him anymore for 5 mil a season. But still don’t see him anywhere near that super elite Queen type money.

Azeez is a player that hasn’t really earned big money yet. Think that plays very well into Rosie’s hands here. A guy on the rise that’s already proven. Worth signing long term. So Rosie can get him that Signing Bonus money. Be really huge for a player in Azeez situation. Give him that immediate cash in the bank. That type contract can work towards the cap. Be spread out over five years. So delay most all of any real cap implications for our franchise for the next two years.

That up front money buying us the cheaper annual payday. Likely even allowing Rosie to work such favorable team contract as to give our GM an ‘Out’ after two or three years.

I see myself as very selective over my opinions in draft prospects. But I form opinions and call how I see things. I do so ahead of things. Very known for my thoughts aren’t just being carried by hindsight.

OK,well let's see what they do. if they re-sign Swift,I doubt we take a RB until late. I don't see a round 1,2,3 RB no matter what. I thought Swift was very effective until the collapse

I’m rounding things into form. My draft process isn’t complete yet. Combine is a key part of things still. Need to see certain measurables on certain guys to earn their positioning. A 4.3 forty CB just costs more to draft than a 4.6 CB.

That's true,we need to see the combine. I am hoping like you Howie breaks this trend because I like Tampa and Trotter. RB should be way later than that. We also need a viable slot guy ASAP. Higgins would work but you're going to pay,but we need to do it. IDK what else Hurts needs because we gave him some of the top weapons in the league

I don’t like Mock drafting much. More just find guys I like to work with. Always view the draft as you are able to move around to make the right choices. Not like I’m talking about expecting a top ten pick at 22 or anything. Making any kind of educated guessing at all about our draft picks has to believe Rosie will move around and trade picks though. What stat has Rosie ever not traded? The easiest way to be wrong about our teams draft plans? That’s easy. Assume we will remain exactly still and just choose picks where they stand right now.

I’m not totally against him. But don’t see him as any start right away level player at all. That’s reserved for the DeVonta Smith few guys.

Not much of one really. We jacked his price tag up. If we were to retain him long term that extension needed to happen week 5 of last season or something.
