Because nobody is dumb enough to try to tackle a dude Mailata's size up high... the LBs and DBs will go at his legs.

It's not rugby where it's one on one and they all tackle high.   Football has all 11 guys coming at the ball carrier and they all can go low.

Mailata pushes the pile... that's what he does well... next to Dickerson and throw in Becton... now you can move the pile... you could run behind it.  I'm not a fan of taking the best blockers away from blocking.   When it's a defensive player coming in to do it, as a gimmick...it still has the best blockers in front.

The war in the trenches...you don't take away the guys who own the front line.

Probably because anybody who’s watched football has witnessed the learning curves

Which learning curves have you witnessed lately with the Eagles?   Chips first year....Doug's first year ... SIRI’S first year... how have those offenses looked?

This isn't 1975 when high schools had 10 rushing plays and 4 pass plays.   Have you seen some of these offenses lately.  Then there is college...so by the time they get to the NFL, they are way ahead.

The offenses are basically the same...you throw in some new wrinkles and plays... it's basically all the same.  Then the difference on game day is how you call it.   We aren't there yet.  This stage is just running the plays.   Not rocket science to where anyone who's job is to study the plays isn't going to get it.

They make millions of dollars to know this stuff... you think they are going to waste time not learning it?

For landscaping jobs on the side?

Whatever,we're talking about 1 play that may never happen jesus you can't make 1 comment here without 12 pages of arguing. I'm out

Who is arguing... just saying that in the NFL they are going to tackle Mailata at the legs.

Just makes a ton of sense. He talks about spreading a D out horizontally. But also while these receivers are spreading the D so vertically could be a ton of space underneath.

Steen injured at practice

Johnny Wilson and Ainias Smith will have really solid NFL careers, but they’ve struggled through three training camp practices.

Ainias Smith with a drop. Offseason practices have been a struggle for him

according to BLG

Q took another step forward as the starting Slot

What about Jordan Davis?

Lol... why wouldn't they from the 2.  He will score as he falls in....hopefully without an injury... but they would still go low on him.

The family was watching Rugby at the Olympics today...  some interesting rules...but you can see where it's nothing like football from a defensive mindset.   They have to spread out to cover everyone being the lateral is used as the only way to pass the ball without kicking it forward...there isn't blocking... so much different with a ball carrier just being able to have one player tackling you and its all up above the waste.
