What I’m talking about is that’s the actual guy checking all the boxes of what Lurie supposedly is wanting…much more than the guy that was kept.

The guy that was kept...

Currently has the best record in franchise history

The guy that was kept...

2021...no issues

2022... great success

2023...  bad ending

2024... ???     If bad then bye bye....but if good.  He stays.

Your problem....he could win 5 superbowls in a row... if they lose week 1 in 2029... " remember 2023, we need to fire him"

That's how Lurie has shown to run his business.   For better or worse.

The roster bubble guys come down to ST usually. So feels like the most important part of sorting out the last roster positions.

Practice fantasy draft from 10th. I wasn't planning on a QB that early, but Mahomes was sitting there in round 3. Real draft tomorrow(today lol)

Are you really getting good practice if Mahomes you grabbed in the third? Think a mock draft like that would be more counterproductive than anything.

Nope no agenda. The guy that had the red flags in this area stuck out with his response being like it was, yes.

Lol....dude,  you must be such a joy to be around!  Someone says hello to you and you probably analyze how, why, when it was said.

It was a joke video... with some dudes just giving a quick response... why does Carter need to specifically analyze this question and give a thoughtful answer on his way back to the locker room.   He gave the quick funny answer just like the first guy.

What round you think Mahomes goes ?

2021…he started off his career sucking…pretty bad. Then when Steichen took over the team thrived. You know much of the wins part you are attributing to Siri were under Steichen actually those first two seasons. 2023 he’s back running the O and things looked very off the whole time frankly. Personnel was doing pretty well very individually. Lacked quality coaching and scheme.

With which athletes were? What blocking strategy will every different coordinator choose?  Which guys will win the return job?

That's what they will determine after the hundreds of practice reps.

If you want my opinion... i anticipate the OL and DL guys playing on these kickoffs.   They are 5 yards away from each other without a running start, it's going to be more of a rushing play ....almost like if everyone knew a fake punt was coming but the punter has to run because the rules say he can't throw.

Again...   pay attention here.

If the success is there in 2024... doing it the same way as 2021 and 2022...Lurie won't fire Siri.

He would have proven to be successful with 2 OCs.   Easy thought process is that he wins with every OC except Hurts childhood friend who was hired for the possibility of the comp pick.

Its great that the coach who finished 3rd in the AFC South gets compliments from his drunk idiot of an owner.  He did a good job as OC here under our current head coach.

Let me ask.   The way the kickoff play is setup.   How many different strategies do you think teams can use?

While you watch and rewatch and thoroughly analyze the Hall of fame preseason game tonight.... see if there is any opportunity to do creative things other than just matching up with the guy in front of you?

I would imagine it would be difficult to have a different assignment than  blocking the guy that you are matched up with.

I could imagine maybe slanting in one direction or the other... but not much more creative than that being that there isn't the time or the space to do much.

Maybe a pulling blocker etc.. but then what happens backside?

FYI.... the Indianapolis Colts had the 3rd easiest strength of schedule in 2023.     We need more perspective on Steichen as a head coach.  Lurie isn't one to make emotional decisions.  Not one to rush into any decisions.    Right now... the 9-8 Colts 3rd place with Steichen to the emotional fan might look better than the 11-6 Eagles record last year.

Again, I think 2024 is a key year here with Lurie.  More data he can use to make decisions.  We shall see what happens, looking forward to this season regardless of who they answer to win Olympic medals in their fun video.

Yeah…no he didn’t. I pick up on the details you miss is all. His problem has been in the head area. Thinking he’s the best and doesn’t need coaching, training or practice. So Jim coming out and instead of a funny answer stating himself…because he’s the most athletic on the team…was the exact answer from him we didn’t want. From others it would play different…could be funny. From a guy that has this complex that’s held back his potential and was part of the red flags that had him sliding away from being first pick overall? Yeah….

Some say DEs. Seems pretty clear TEs. Some think LBs. Some DBs. It’s new for all. So there is a bunch to hash out. My experience with sports is performing during practice doesn’t always equate to game production. I still see and place value in PS game experience. Guess I’m talking about trying to hit the ground running those first couple games gaining any possible edge there.  You don’t see it. Which is fine. But I see plenty of potential gains in this area of the PS. I would prefer we get as many reps as possible trying out different approaches versus competition. I’m assuming LBs probably should be involved on both sides of the KO. So how would we truely practice that? We don’t have much comparatively for even one side of the equation…much less enough and of quality for both sides going head to head. We need game experience.

So 10 guys lined up next to each other where you can't get a running start.   Nobody moves until the return man catches the ball.

What exotic strategies are you looking for here?   I mean... they have to line up where they are... not much creativity there.

But I'd love to hear your extensive analysis after you dissect the film of the Hall of fame game.

So you’re saying all 32 ST coaches will be doing exactly the same approach? Not buying that.

Even if they did the personnel isn’t the same.

It was a joke video. Pretty good stuff from everybody but the one guy whos problem is being so Uber talented he hasn’t been coachable or worked hard….stating he’s the most talented player on the team. His answer wasn’t a joke…like it should have been.

This is the player I said I would have drafted first even the year before he entered the draft.

I agree... I see the value in 2 preseason games.   1 home and one away.   To get used to the game prep and the routine both home and away.   Other than that... these games will mostly have players who will get cut playing the bulk of the time.  Specifically kickoffs... you would assume that the bulk of the unit wouldn't be on the field in preseason.

Again.. with the new format, I would expect offensive guys blocking and defensive guys on coverage ... more so than the usual.  And I would expect the linemen to play more so than the usual as well.   Do I really need to see Hennessey or Bechton (whoever the backup OL will be) play on ST in August?   Not really.

They will hash these things out in practice when they go full tilt for when guys are trying to get jobs.   Remember, they aren't running down 50 yards at full speed anymore, much easier to simulate playing 100% when you have to engage with the guy that's standing 5 yards away from you.

So will there be a gunner still? Or has that job been eliminated? Or will you attack the blocking to open up a gunner still to get in there and make a play? On and on…

Kinda like on here... pretty good stuff from everyone except the one guy.   Stop overanalyzing everything... dude made a quick response, we aren't privy to the inside jokes ...even though you like to use the cute nicknames like you are part of the team.   So we don't know who shot the video or what was going on.  That's why its a joke.  Relax.  If anyone came off cocky it was CGJ... but that was funny too.

So does it matter for a guy like Bradberry to make the team considering he doesn’t play ST?

LOL... did you read the rules?   Let's talk tomorrow... it still seems like you don't understand the situation where the 10 cover guys line up.... you know in a line... across the field.

Do you see anyone who could be a gunner when they stand this close?    You want strategy here

1.  Block the guy in front of you

2. everyone blocks the guy to the right of them pushing them that way

3.  Everyone blocks the guys to the left of them pushing them that way

4.  we can use one or two pulling blockers, and then we need to try to come across with a back side block... like a running play.

There is no gunner... no multiple layers of defense etc.    They have simplified this to make it like a rushing play, with everyone knowing when the play starts and where the returner is going to be as they catch it.  The mystery is gone, but more so now the one on one blocking battles will matter more.

You just aren’t capable of comprehending any actual strategy that can occur beyond a singular run and everybody attack no philosophy approach. We’ll see what happens. I feel confident in my thinking that we will see different tactics unfold on this play. Time will tell.
