I actually have been pressing that an outside WR is more the need. Why I’m saying we should add a capable outside WR. Most of those…can move to the slot if needed. AJ and Smitty can clearly play from the Slot. So Ngata stepped up tonight. OK so it's one night, but he played well and that needs to be considered

I’m not saying he wants to stink. But making a business decision with no shot at starting and two years under contract still …just trying to not make enough mistakes to lose his job. It really is how he looks like he’s playing.
August 16, 20242 yr Author BTW I thought Trotter played a great game. Excellent tackling by him also. He could be a DITR and a draft steal

I think it's a battle between Milton and Davis-Price Yeah we discussed it pretty thoroughly for sure. I just was giving a possible excuse for that maybe Pickett isn’t quite as bad as things look because of the whole situation. But need to finish that Tanner we both seem to think took the QB2 job tonight. So now….Pickett pushed down to QB3. Maybe we see him change his tune to finish PS. He has to earn the backup role outside looking in now. Roles reversed!

He put Kenny on notice he is coming

So the level of competition drops fairly quickly. Significant difference of what happens earlier than late. Dean and Trot made good early plays. We’re seeing things well. Ngata has success in the second half versus the fifth/sixth stringers with a QB he’s been familiar with.

August 16, 20242 yr Hold the level of competition of the first quarter much higher than the fourth quarter, right?

August 16, 20242 yr Author Interesting they brought MCKee in after Grier for the game winning drive. Where was Kenny?

How many guys in the fourth quarter will be playing on Sundays? It is what it is. Ngata has fairly consistently shown enough each preseason to land on the practice squad. He did his job tonight.

I’m not real high on our Oline depth. Not sure how things are going to exactly sift out for those last two Oline spots. Kinnard? Keegan? Clearly the rookie C faulty snapping on a Brotherly Shove attempt gave low confidence in him. PS for him….which is optimistic with what he’s done so far.
