Kenny as the second strong QB got the first half. Tanner got the second as third string. He explained how he wanted Grier to come in to nothing awkward and always had planned to throw him a bone after two series in the second half…then bring Tanner right back in.

I’m pretty shocked that both of you show such disregard and ignorance to the importance if the backup QB. The list of reasons is exhaustingly long. If you haven’t figured that out yet…nothing I can say to you now will change anything.

Job isn’t available or up for competition. He’s doing his best for whatever comes down the road. He’s looked pretty good ever since he’s come here I’ve thought. Looked like he should have earned the backup role over Mariota…and now Pickett. But it was just ssoooo soooo obvious Siri and then Spuds so clearly shut those fam thoughts down directly and quickly.

Again.... it's August 17... why is it important.....which QB ...whom both are miles behind the semi God Hurts...who can only make us a 10 win team....   is named #2 right this moment?

One would assume after the season is lost with Hurts out.... that the coach would play the guy who thinks will do best.  If that guy doesn't do well then he puts thr other guy in. 

 Why can't the opinion change later. Does everything have to be a premeditated master plan that can never change?

My point is exactly we all do see it. That’s why they met it head on and shut that idea down so quickly and thoroughly.

They don't want to piss off Howie and we don't need a drama(yet it's there regardless). Kenny will start as the 2. if he needs to play and sucks Siri needs to try McKee

Some request trades and are not granted them. They didn't think enough of Pickett to even keep him as the 2,but he was fine coming here as the 2 and now he's not playing like a 2

Pickett never wanted to start,he's fine loafing on the bench

He was asked about playing the starters... his answer was they ran the 80 or so plays.   Wouldn't you assume he meant the starters got in a lot of work in joint practice so that's why they didn't play in the preseason game?  Especially since is was a response to that specific question?

He wanted out.  Why keep that problem?  Take the picks and move on...like we did with Reddick. 

Anyway we know who the 1,2,3 are as of week 1. No controversy unless Hurts goes down

I’m just telling you my read on the situation. I’m hearing very clearly from our organization there has never been any competitions at QB. So yeah I watch Pickett and see a guy just not giving any huge excuses to force himself to lose his job. Siri came straight out pulling numbers of his completion percentage. These guys understand the situation and what needs to occur. I’m seeing Pickett’s play seem to reflect this. He can take 4 sacks and hold on to the ball and survive as number two. If he does drastically terrible then maybe a change could be forced on the situation. Throw around the line of scrimmage and take sacks. He keeps his job. That’s my take on the situation. Depth chart week one: Pickett second string QB. Is what it is.
