It was nice to see ASmith score the 2 pt game winner. I hope he plays well next week. I'm kind of worried he won't make the team at this point. What to do with Covey

Nice pretty sure fire game winning play design. What collection of fourth stringers on D(or lower) was going to be able to handle that two point conversion play?

So what if Hurts wanted out?

Forget he money/contracts,you have to compare apples to apples. Why would your starting QB want out?

Yes... Hurts and Pickett aren't apples to apples.  Pickett could be traded....Hurts couldn't be traded.

That's kind of an important detail

We can't.... cap issues.

The QB made the play, the WR made the catch what collection of 1's would stop the same play if it's executed correctly?

Then it's apples to oranges because it's different. Suffice to say I did not like the deal then and i still don't

I'm not a pickett fan and hopefully I won't need to be LOL

He mentioned the amount of work / plays they got in...right after being asked if his players needed to play and get work in.

Not a stretch to understand he meant the starters got in plenty of reps. Didn't need them in the preseason game

That’s why it was a good predetermined answer to the obvious question coming. All he said though was we had a great real physical practice. Got in 89 plays. Didn’t say all those were the starters. Didn’t say anything specific at all except number of plays they got in during the joint practice. I already thought about this as soon as I initially watched Siri’s presser. I don’t know what the heck our team getting in 89 plays in the joint practice means…except it’s the reasoning Siri used to not play our starters.

Ok..... but what if McKee wanted out...we were offered 2 picks for him...and Justin Fields was available to take his spot.

Do you keep an unhappy McKee or get Fields and the picks?

Obviously I take Fields and the picks. Fields is > Pickett

Howie can't trade Hurts.... the dead cap would put us over the cap.

Pickett making peanuts actually saved cap for Pittsburgh...plus they got a better QB and 2 picks.

Pittsburgh got a good LB in the draft out of it. Didn’t they get Payton Wilson with the pick?

Just imagine if we had a good LB like him instead of trading for Pickett.

So I would have Hurts,Fields and Greier who was as good as Pickett(which isn't saying much)

The next 3 years is about Hurts.   Nothing else matters at QB until we need the next #1.

Unless this is a legit contender like 2017.   But if we are a max 10 win team like the experts on here say....then does it really matter on August 17 who is #2 on the depth chart?

No, why we should stop this topic LOL

So you make a lot of assumptions and try to relate things that can be a real stretch.

This one is right where you can see exactly what was implied.... yet you refuse to see it?    Lol.

Well IMO the 2 does matter because when Shew had to go in(at least he tried) we lost both games,so it should matter

Hopefully you’re correct. But very doubtful a collection of random fourth string defenders are going to be able to handle that switching and trading off they had to do to follow the motion and beat the pick. I’d say their fourth stringers did better than our starting defenders did twice in the SB….you know when we gave up two TDs to the Chiefs on the same play with no defender anywhere near.

Foles won a SB as the BU(2) so yeah it means something to me at least

Dude... do you really think I know who Payton Wilson is???  Lol

Like when our QB gave them a free 7?
