He went for it at times when most felt he shouldn’t. He didn’t go for it in a situation where punting made most sense and went for the FG. I didn’t think he really worked the clock well at the end either but it worked out. This team keeps giving up penalties and is ill disciplined.

September 23, 20242 yr Hurts went 29 of 38 for 311 yards really picking up this new O fairly quickly here. Probably because he’s learned a new O every season of his pro and college career.  Smitty really screwed up that route on the interception. He has to cut sharper getting in front of that S in the Endzone. Should have been a TD instead of a turnover. That’s possibly the one knock against him…he’s slight. Honey Badger just muscled him out of the way for the pick. Devonta has been having an excellent season all together though. Hurts has to protect the ball better than he did on that fumble. Obviously he thought he was getting away from the rusher….got shoestring tackled. But he has to hold on to it better than that period.
September 23, 20242 yr Covey is out six weeks with a broken bone in his shoulder. That’s why he hasn’t been used as a WR before now. So we’ll get to see DeJean returning P. He has the highest of potential returning P…so I’m excited for it.

Just not sure what we’ll try to do to make it through this next game. Think I’d rather take the L than rush these guys to play. Got the bye around the corner.

September 23, 20242 yr Can’t tell you how ticked I was at the refs not blowing the Smitty play dead when forward progress was so far past. Refs didn’t do their jobs on that one. Guy got seriously hurt. Rumor was Smitty was out cold.
