There is the game day roster, the 53 man roster and the practice squad. Two PS players can be elevated to dress on gamedays a total of three times in a season.

SO if you are on the PS and get elevated you are ON the roster, even if it's only that game. They can choose to move you from the roster BACK to the PS,but you have to be on the 53 to play

SO if he wasn't doing that you find read 2,that' is QB error

If the QB always waits to throw until the guy is open…the ball won’t be there in time.

You have to throw with anticipation…ball is thrown expecting the WR to run his route correctly. That’s just how it’s done.

How about not throwing the ball if you are uncertain the WR can make that move? Just bad decisions. You can't give games away anticipating

Nope. Game day roster is different than 53 man roster. PS guys elevated on gamedays still return back to the PS.

Great QB decision and throw…bad WR route. Should have been a TD.

SO if it looks risky you throw a dump off pass and live for another down

When elevated the PS player is on the 53 for that day

Bad route, bad decision to throw it up. The QB should know this by now

Then they can choose to leave him on the 53 or move him back to the PS

You’re throwing to your best WR. It was there. Coach would teach to make that throw. But also would teach Wr has to cut in front of the S. Fairly basic football stuff here.

He wasn’t on the 53

Nope…he’s on the game day roster…which isn’t 53 guys.

He has to be to play even if it's that one day

No…when a PS player is elevated on gameday he returns to the PS

Keep trying to explain the Gameday roster is different than the 53 Man roster

OK you are right he has to be on the roster if he is called up 4 times

Should have been a TD. WR has to cut in front of the S on the play.

You listen to Ryan Clark on that video and he proclaims what a fantastic game Hurts played when he watched the All 22.

Real high completion percentage…but he also made the point of how he threw the ball away when really needed to. Smitty messed up the route on what should have been a TD…but goes down as an interception instead. Gainwell messed up on the missed communication on one incompletion. Two drops. Threw the ball away a few times which were smart plays on QB1 part. He was 29 of 38.

He had a fine game except for the turnovers Hurts is 2nd in the NFL in turnovers this season behind only Will Levis…. All the excuses in the world you want to give him aren’t justification for the sheer amount of turnovers he has over the last season and a quarter

You have to be ON THE ROSTER to PLAY. Not sure how many ways I can explain how this stuff works. He can be moved BACK to the PS if they choose to do that

I believe he automatically goes back on the practice squad after the game.  It's a one game activation.... and they would have to activate him again in order for him to play.

I believe these decisions are made each Saturday or whatever the day before the game is.

It should have been a TD. You played TE, right? You should know very well the route called for Smitty to cut in front of the S. Exactly where Hurts threw it. Dan Orlovsky stated  exactly the same thing when I watched him today. That’s WR error….if you aren’t trying to blame Hurts for everything that is.

Ok... the DB would have jumped the route either way.

The route should have been this...the QB sees the route wasn’t run that way.... so don't throw it.

The DB was moving up prior to the throw....Smith made his fake right too intensely,  he couldn't cut back at a flat angle.. this was all before the throw.

Hurts threw into a crowd of 3 defenders ...he needs to stop the low percentage plays and putting the ball at risk.

Notice the plays he got his yards.  Brag about those plays...you will notice the ball was never thrown into coverage.  Always one defender..  that's the type of plays he needs to stick to.  Away from traffic.  Especially the way he has  been staring down his targets...that's easy stuff for pro DBs.

Andy Daulton made adult throws yesterday... that's the pro QB stuff.  Hurts should stick to the short crossing routes where the ball comes out on time and he avoids traffic.

It is what it is... Steichen's best attribute here was keeping Hurts out of trouble by avoiding those throws he can't make like the average QB.   He was able to use the running threat and short passes.  In 2022 we also had a bunch of jump balls that our WRs made plays.  That luck is not going to last forever.

It's the same stuff.   It is what it is.  If the play isn't run perfectly... Hurts running ability is the tool he has...he doesn't have the arm to make off timing plays via the throw

It's fine if we can run the ball and keep the offense on time.  As long as he protects the ball.

His big passing games will be all these YAC plays like yesterday.  We aren't going to see him shred a defense with his brain,  eyes and arm. It is what it is.
