Yeah, I get it but it is still a tough move. Europe isn't ready to defend itself yet. It will take a couple of years just to get the minimum in play.

It makes no difference whether they help or not. Trump will immediately forget they helped and do whatever he wants no matter what they do in this moment. In fact, telling him to F off is probably more likely to get you what you want then playing along with his bullsheet. Bullies don't respond to capitulation. Yes I understand the thinking. I don't think it will be a flat out "no". More of a "not right now" or "yes, but we need to do this first" or something like that.

There are different ways to produce a "no effect" including saying yes but then not doing much. We shall see.
