A MEU doesn't work that way. Think of them like a floating quick reaction force. They just sail around waiting for stuff and units get rotated in and out of being in a MEU. If nothing is going on they make some port calls and have some joint training with friendly nations. There's usually a few of them out to sea at a time.

Whatever troops we have on Okinawa are still there.
