Walking to the other teams huddle to talk trash is an unintelligent move.

YUP. Where is the adult to take him by the arm and lead him away from the fray? Un-f'ing-believable.

I am NOT kidding, someone on D needs to be his buddy, like on school trips. You know, one smart kid for the dim-witted one.

I would love to see them get the ball in AJ and Smitty's hands early on, let teams know they need to account for all the weapons. Ultimately, winning matters more than stats, it's not the stats. It's the strategy of using the weapons you have and attacking defenses in different ways to get you down the field in scoring position. There's also a morale, when you have star players they want to be fed.

Just checked the snap counts. 61 offensive plays for the Eagles. 63 defensive plays. That's about a dozen or so short of 'average' for each side of the ball, IIRC.

Yeah, I think 75 is normal. So, about 20% down.

If the NFL Brass are truly Chiefs lickers, Carter will be suspended for Week Two.

That would be overplaying their hand (bias).

I don't think he'll spit again, but he'll definitely do something dumb.

It will be hard to extend him after this

No it wont

We really didn't even do this

Final Game One Prediction Results

@Bwestbrook36 with a prediction of Eagles 24 and Cowboys 17 gets the win, with @devpool with a prediction of 23-22 getting the runner up (Stan Lee's infamous No Prize).  A total of 72 predictions were recorded with 69 for an Eagles win and 3 for a Saints win.  The average predicted score was Eagles 32 Cowboys 19.

Only 1 Bonus prediction was correct. @LacesOut with "Does Dak seem to play well against the Eagles, or is that just my imagination? I think he plays very well on Thursday night. But the Eagles pull out the win"

A Jim Marshall "you are going the wrong way" prize goes to @wussbasket for his "

Honorable Mentions go to

@we_gotta_believe for his layup prediction "We got a game to watch!"

@McMVP for "Campbell with a sack and a forced fumble" ... getting 50% of that one ain't bad

and @EagleJoe8 for "At least one of our top 3 rookies (Campbell, Makuba, or Robinson) will record their first sack, INT, or fumble recovery." ... forced fumble and fumble recovery being in the same ballpark

Here is a visual of the final list of predictions.

I am giving myself honorable mention for my Shipley gets a 35 yard screen. Close-ish. Nice catch and run screen. Hope he is OK.

Za’darius Smith is a good pickup. He is instantly better than Jaylix Hunt and Josh Uche. If healthy, he should be a great addition to this DE core.

I just did not expect a rookie that missed a bit of camp to look this good. We have something with Mukaba. And I am not as down on Brown as others, but man if Mukaba is this good so far, then we have something.

And Campbell is going to be a monster. Early, I know but man it feels like our LBs will be top 3 unit in the league this year. Wow, what weapons they give Vic to blitz or rush them from the edge. And Baun is so smart and technically sound.

Yup, i dont have a problem with Brown either he just cant be counted on as hes going to take himself out with some unaimed kill shot every game.

So its nice to have a young guy like makuba who can take snaps when brown inevitably blows himself up

The Eagles did not do that. 13 plays for 39 yards in the 3rd quarter, and all the Eagles mustered out of that was a 58 yard field goal.

Then trying to put the game away in the 4th quarter, they ran 20 plays for 47 yards.

None of these numbers are attacking a defense in any way, let alone different ways.

It is a game like this that you expect a franchise QB, especially one that the fan base thinks can be the MVP, needs to make tough throws to his Alpha playmakers. 51 passing yards in a second half is not franchise QB/MVP production.

Yup, super conservative play calling by patullo and hurts seemed to be a one read if its not open take off, super conservative with the ball. He was efficient but ceedee catches a couple of those drops and boys win instead of saying hurts and patullo were efficient wed be saying they played scared.

Was going to add that, those two balls that CeeDee dropped were money throws by Dak. Those are the kind of throws you want your franchise QB to have the stones to make.

Lol I really can’t believe he gave himself a C. We’ve seen some bad corner play over the years. I won’t say it’s the worse we’ve all seen but it wasn’t close to a C

Its the worst ive seen, worse than toast jenkins, maxwell, cromartie, fletcher, I cant think in my mind a worse played game from an eagle corner in all the time ive watched eagles football.

He was bad against the pass, worse against the run, just awful all together.

The toss had a good bit of success yesterday, and most of the outside runs. Continuing to pound inside was maddening.

When the All-22 comes out I’ll examine that. At least once on the toss play the Eagles lined up with two TEs on the right (strong) side, motioned a WR across left to right, slanted the OL to the right showing an OZ right and pitched to Saquon going left. Dallas stacked the defense to the strong side and had a safety follow the motion, basically stripping the weak side of defenders. The next time the Eagles lined up in that formation the safety stayed home.

Come on. I'm not defending Adoree by any stretch but we've seen worse games. Dak only totaled 188 yards passing. Adoree gave up 100 yards to a really good WR. That's been done and exceeded many times by bad eagles CBs

It was obvious after last night that this defense needs at least 2 more vets to keep these youngens in line and not over rely on them. Need another vet on the backend as well to replace Toast Jackson and add a proven track record & leadership. Gilmore might be the way to go. A good pro bowl vet back there. Refs are gonna call these young guys tough, like they did last nite. Didn't get any of the close calls.

Yup the deep one down the seem that hit him right in the bread basket was a money throw, hurts had a great toss to dotson and hurts is a really good deep ball thrower and last night just seemed patullo was scared to call those shots and hurts wasnt throwing them.

I mean the number of 3 TE sets patullo called was mind boggling, whats the advantage of taking smitty or AJ off the field and replacing one of them with Granson🤔

Just a weird game plan when every one knew the cowboys corners were all beat up and other than the deep shot to dotson they were never challenged.

Kind of reminds me of when Andy went into cincy and threw the ball 60 times in a monsoon, ending in mcnabb not knowing a game could end in a tie...😒

Hopefully the offensive game plan is better next week cuz if they go up against KC playing conservative scared ball against Spags in kc theyll lose

Its not the amount of yards he gave up its how he gave them up.

He was no near any of the targets he defended and his flailing attempt on Miles Sanders long run was one of the worst most pathetic defensive plays ive seen in a long while.

I keep seeing people say this, but Granson only played 17 snaps, and they were not all in three TE formation.

Smith is 33. He is coming off an injury-plagued season. He is NOT better than Hunt and Hunt is only scratching the surface of his talent. As for Uche, I have no opinion.

Za'Darius Smith is the replacement for BG. Inquiring minds want to know is if his ability to trash talk is in BG territory!

35 tackles, 9 sacks, 17 QB hits, in 618 snaps last year.

6'4 274, full sized DE.

Looks like he has something left in the tank.

He'll fill that BG role, some snaps as a DE in a 4-3 set, some snaps at DT on obvious passing downs.

He won't take time away from Hunt or Smith b/c he's strictly a D-line type, like BG, you're not dropping him into coverage.

Some were at FB which i assume would have been BVS snaps were he not made of glass.

Was actually looking forward to seeing how much they would use BVS oh well☹️
